If B. Harris is Bama's QB, what is their record?

Let's for the sake of discussion that Harris is the starter at Bama this year. Are they still the favorite in the West? Would Kiffen get more out of him than Cam? Would Bama fans take Harris as a 3rd year starter over the inexperience of their roster?

Undefeated.... Bama develops quarterbacks better than LSU. A painful fact, but still a fact.

Cant predict their record, but Harris would be a star.

11-1. Bama would scheme to his strengths and would be able to develop him into a serviceable quarterback.

Is it really that hard to spell Kiffin correctly?

They would be fine. Brandon Harris has serious talent. LSU just sucks huge donkey balls at developing qbs and our offense is trashcan.

The QB at Alabama is expected to manage the game and make system decisions. Put a QB in that can't do that and Alabama might lose 3 games beyond expectations, which is a one-loss season.

I have some doubts about Harris. Harris has appeared to be slow on decision making, hasn't really shown an ability to read defenses, and hasn't shown the intangible... grit, or toughness, or whatever. He is fine against Mobile Community College. But when the game is on the line.. and he has to perform at even a modest level of decision making, he has not thus far in his career. And don't give me bull about his being hurt last year. Coaches are not fool enough to play a severely restricted hurt player. It is after the fact excuse making suddenly popular among the posi-tigers.

At least Jennings won two games by leading drives late in the 4th Q.. which is something Harris or even Meth for that matter never did once.

Maybe Harris will develop those attributes. If he doesn't, he would not be a starter for long at Alabama. Or if you are REQUIRING him to be QB for the full season, perhaps Kiffin could work around his deficiencies.... but I think Alabama could go 8-4 with his QBing the team.

Last year seemed like par for the course for a first time starting qb. But I'm an LSU fan so...

I trust Kiffin would do his best to develop him as much as he can amd the offense would focus a lot on his strengths but just from seeing B. Harris play, I think we would go 10-2.

If he was the starter we'd be fine. Here we go, Saban does not put a qb on the field that he hasn't evaluated, doesn't trust, doesnt believe in and hasn't spent countless hours developing a plan to play to his strengths. He doesn't just roll one out and hope for the best. If he was best as converting 3rd downs, understood defensive and tendencies due to film study and was great with ball security he would play. Saban pays zero attention to your experience.

There is much much more to being a good qb than just having a strong arm and quick feet. Quite honestly those are secondary assetts behind reading defenses, checking out of bad play, taking care of the football, playing within your limits and being very aware of where the sticks are and doing just enough to move the chains. As Chuck noll would say, offense is a series of 10 yard drives. It's really hard to screw up if he has a good head on his shoulders.

Kiffin would get a lot more out of him than Cam/Les. And, IMO Harris would execute and produce under Kiffin. If he can take Blake Sims and Jake Cocker and make them better as a season progresses and win hardware with them, then he could do the same with Harris.

There are plenty of valid criticisms of Harris, but this is just dumb.

His worst game came against Eastern Michigan, a team with a terrible defense. Harris couldn't have been much worse in that game.

His best game was arguably Florida, who had the second-best defense of any team LSU played last year. Harris was clutch when it counted in that game.

He played awesome and led us back against Mississippi State in '14 and we nearly won that game after trailing 34-10 before he came in.

He played well against Bama in the first half before the injury he sustained on the TD pass.

Like I said, I could reel off a half-dozen legit criticisms of BH, but the crap you spewed is utter nonsense.

Does he have a tendency to put too much velocity and not enough touch on short-to-intermediate passes? Sure.

Does he tend to put the ball too high or lead his receivers too much (leading to them getting killed by safeties)? Absolutely.

But if you're going to criticize him at least watch him play first and have some modicum of validity to your argument.

11-1. I think Kiffin could work with the kid.
