I would think getting shutout in a NC game automatically knocks LSU out of contention for this distinction. Such an embarrassment to the SEC. Like I give a shite

LSU is probably the second-most prestigious program in the SEC. They deserve to be on the list even if Bama pulled their pants down in 2011.

Funny that nobody has mentioned Tennessee winning the 1st BCS championship game

On top of those numbers, LSU is the only one of those schools to play the other 3 every year.

Overall 27-22 against those other 3 in the BCS era
Below is the breakdown of LSU's record against the others since the BCS started

UF: 7-9
Bama: 10-7
Auburn: 10-6

You can make solid arguments for all four.

Bama has the three titles, but also went 0-3 in non-title BCS games.

If Auburn wins, they will be 3-0 in BCS games with two titles, but has the worst record.

LSU's 4-1 record and most wins in the BCS era gives them a nod.

And Florida has one less win than LSU, and has seven BCS appearances.

I would say LSU, Bama, Florida are all tied for 1 with Auburn a close 2nd.

As an AU fan, I am fine with that. Considering how many crap teams we have thrown out there over the last 15 years. AU has easily had the most exciting ride.

LSU - best 10 year run

Bama - best 5 year run

Auburn - best 3 seasons (counting 2004)

Essentially, LSU has been the most consistent overall, Bama has been the most dominant recently and Auburn has put it together better than anyone on a selected basis. Florida would be a runner-up in most categories.

I guess it just depends on what you value as a fan.

It's all subjective.

LSU is clearly the most consistent since 2000 but without a dominant, memorable team. They never bottomed out like the others.

Auburn had 2 undefeated seasons plus this one if they win, which is pretty damn impressive.

I would go with LSU if we're talking strictly SEC.

However, one program a lot of people seem to be forgetting is Oklahoma. Oklahoma has played in 9 BCS games, a 4-5 record, 1 NC and played for another. Also 153-34 record since 2000.

While looking this info up, I stumbled across another pretty amazing stat: Oklahoma has only lost 4 home games since Stoops was hired in 1999.

Big game Bob

You can make the case for any of them.

Bama with 3 championships is the staple now, but not in the early years of the BCS.

Florida was definitely the top dog during the mid 2000's but was mediocre during the early 2000's and again the last few years.

Auburn having not won the National Championship in 2004 being undefeated was a major blow. Had they won that, and also not had losing seasons mixed in there, they might be the clear cut favorite.

LSU has been the most consistent SEC team since the inception of the BCS. The late 90's and 1/9/12 are the arguing points for naysayers.

It's hard to pick a clear cut favorite. My personal opinion is that LSU underachieved and could have won 2 possibly 3 more titles during that span....2006 and 2011 were two of the best teams during the BCS.

If we are going with consistency from start to finish, it's LSU. If we are going with best run, it's Alabama.

If your team has had a losing season in the past ten years they are disqualified.

Since 1998, UGA has more wins than any of those teams

And yes, I know what comment is coming next. I realize.
