No way he gets fired before the end of the season unless shite really hits the fan.
With that said, I think he's got this year and the next to ride that 2010 NC. How he builds on that (or doesn't) remains to be seen.
ETA: does Cam have a younger brother? If so, ole Chizz is set.

Only way he gets fired by the end of the year is if Auburn somehow falls apart mentally because physically and talent wise on average can be a 6-6, 7-5 team easy, so like 5-7 or 4-8 Gene might be packing his bags

The answer is: Chizik is the reason AU's Defense sucks. Remember what Paul Rhoads said after he took over for Chizik at Iowa St.? Roof was just the fall guy.

Tackling wasn't the main reason we lost saturday.. My concern is why our DB's are lining up 10 yards off the line so much. They got easy 8-9 yard gains whenever they wanted it seemed. I still don't fully understand why we keep doing that.

Yeah that was a head scratcher for me as well. I know its complicated because BVG is an NFL DC but thats kind of what safeties are for lol. Yall looked like yall were playing fricking Cover 6 or some shite to defend a Hail Mary everytime.

The NC reset the clock, the record is the record. So he is in a 4 year cycle In which he needs to produce. This is basically the second year of the cycle. Lose big, lose close, win close, win big. Chizik has the support of the folks that count. Change would not be good for Auburn.

Of course, Gene is their savior, greatest coach ever at Auburn. He won them a natty because he is such a great coach.
