Why do I need to mention it? We were the best team in the west and had played down to LSU after we already had the west won.

I see what you are saying now, I think it can happen, but will be extremely difficult. Bama is the biggest obstacle. As long as Miles is at LSU, anything can happen with them.

well LSU and Alabama will BOTH be at their peaking best when we play them this year so if we win of them then we would have beaten them at their best.

Yes, I'm sure that's what the coaching staff preached in the locker room pre-game and emphasized the lack of importance of the LSU game.

Actually, all they preached about was having already won the West, going to Atlanta, and a "Great Bowl". Then going out there and "playing hard" for the "hometown crowd"....

Agreed...Arkansas was on the winning end of 15 of the 45 games played vs LSU before 2000!!
On a bright note...in the 15 times they actually were able to beat LSU in that 106 year period previous to Y2K..they won exactly Zero bowl games!!
