And there it is. Ask Urban and Gene how easy replacing Cam and Tebow was

Or Sumlin how easy replacing Case Keenum was...

Losing your 1st and 2nd string quarterback will tend to make you suck.

No shite, tell that to your buddy who said this:

Our offensive system is always going to put up points - for example no dropoff after KK left

Your offensive system sucked without Keenum.

Without him you lose at least 4 last year. At least.

JFF will leave after his soph. year (this coming year). If A&M doesn't win it all, JFF will leave due to the embarrassment of leading the greatest choke job in college football history.

Nice. Win a national title or it's a "choke job."
Damn, it's good to have such cred.

I agree the offense needs a good QB - and we have some good talent sitting on the bench behind him. Wait until you see what Showers can do after he transfers.

BTW, Kenny Hill has played in the same system since High School and garnered the same AA status that Manziel did. Matt Davis is more "athletic" than Manziel, though his QB skills are up in the air.

We have talent in the QB pipe, and those players will eventually play on more talented teams than JFF did. IF Sumlin stays long enough to build the foundation.

Bama for sure and very likely Ole Miss and La Tech just off the top of my head.

So you agree aTm is a stepping stone school, before anyone brought it up.

Meh. Your offense took a bigger drop off his season and y'all still had Tyler Wilson.

The defense won the Bama game in the end - it wasn't all JFF. It was a complete team effort from the defense, to the WR's, to the QB.

JFF is the QB and gets all the glory, but he didn't beat Bama by himself.

Considering how much their fanbase builds them up, it would be a pretty big disappointment.

Our backup was so good he was the de facto starter until JFF cleaned up his turnovers. He's transferring now and will most likely start at the school of his choosing.

You're oversimplifying this. A&M had plenty of talent and is only getting better.

Nah, we're only worried he'll leave for the NFL.

A&M isn't a stepping stone school, not after the SEC move. But there is a real danger to losing Sumlin to the NFL.

If a coach wants to go to the NFL, you cannot really do anything about it.

Wouldn't know anything about this, Arkansas takes coaches from the NFL during the season, twice.

QB talent could have been fine that year, no one knows. Did anyone watch one second of Houston football that year? I didn't. There are tons of things that happen through a season.

But for the most part, his point stands, if we are going to run an offense so dependent on QB play, our recruiting grounds are ideal for such a philosophy.
