I don't think so. Early year rankings don't mean much, therefore, beating a highly ranked team early shouldn't necessarily launch up up the charts like it would later in the year.

Miami did just go from unranked to 15 after beating Florida. Regardless, they won't vote A&M #1. Instead the theme will shift to it being a down year for the SEC.

Bama has been ranked #1 at some point for multiple weeks in each of the past 6 seasons. I've found that while it is much more fun to be ranked #1 at the END of the year (like in 2009, 2011, and 2012), it is still enjoyable to be ranked #1 at any point in the season.

A&M would have been preseason #2 if there weren't so many questions about the defense

There are still plenty of questions about your defense, Jean Claude.

I think they'd go to 3, maybe even 2.

Did you even read CG's post? Of course he doesn't think Tenn will beat Oregon. Thats why he called it a "complete holy shite scenario".

Did you read that before posting? Oregon won't lose to UT. Oregon will cover the spread.

Did YOU read that before posting?

I called it a "holy shite" scenario in which Oregon loses to Tennessee and Ohio State loses to Cal without Braxton Miller.

A&M and Bama both falls in the rankings to 12ish due to their obvious incompetencies. LSU gets a bump up to around 4th due to the obvious hangover effect from both teams' games with LSU last year still affecting them.

You've got to think so, but I could see four teams splitting them: A&M, Oregon, Clemson, and Ohio State. But if the majority of voters see their first place vote go down, they give it to A&M, right? FWIW I would hate to be #1 so early in the year...

Bama gonna launch aTm into the 2nd ten quicker than Johnny can find his pen.

#1 - aTm should have thanked LSU
#2 - the situation is FAR different this time around......Saban's revenge is rather painful.

Well folks...Clemson jumped several by beating UGA. We will be no less than #2 if we beat bama. period.

Nope. The narrative changes to SEC is down this year. We move NOWHERE if we beat Bama absent a loss by somebody ahead of us. Bookmark it and take it to the MFing bank.

It doesn't matter. If you run the table your in. One benefit of being in the SEC. Unless your Alabama then you get a mulligan.
