...a way out at Auburn. A reporter on the "round table", is saying that these negotiations are taking place and that Tubbs is participating.

I will keep you posted if I hear anything. This will be interesting.

Scoop- if what you're hearing ends up being true, who do you think they get to replace him?

And where does he go? There could be a few jobs open that would be attractive- Clemson, U of Washington (I know they are bad now, but they have a good history and a fertile recruiting base).

He may just retire, he has two young sons that he would like to spend some time with.

I hope to God they don't hire Muschamp. I wonder who they can get that will want to come in here agaisnt Saban right now. Alabama has become a tough venue for Auburn with respect to recruiting with Saban at Alabama.

Didn't he not just complete a 7000 square foot house just outside of Auburn.

Figured he would stay until his kids are out of HS.

If he does leave, i possibly see him just retiring and doing color commentary for one of the networks.

I think he will retire rather than go to Clemson.

I really think UW makes a hard run at Muschamp after they fire Willingham. It would be less pressure on him, he has affiliations with Emmert, and he could get a couple of good recruiting classes to get them back to where they should be in the PAC 10.

What about a guy like Brian Kelly from Cincinnati? Kind of under the radar this year, but a lot of fans wanted LSU to take a hard look at him if Miles left.

Maybe Saban can coach both UA and AU...I know it's never been done before, but this is Saban we're talking about.

It's all smoke and mirrors. He's probably just getting leverage. Doesn't Tubs and Saban have the same agent? I'm sure the agent will go to AU and tell them they need to give him more $$ to stay or he's going to look at Clemson. I don't understand the Gumps logic behind Tubs leaving b/c he's worried about Bama. Tubs has owned Bama. Tubs has beaten Saban more times than he has lost to Saban. I highly doubt he's too worried about Bama. If I were in his shoes, I'd whip Bama's arse this year and after the game have a press conference and wear a houndstooth cap and say I retire b/c I don't have anymore to prove here.

Yea, a Top 20 program in the best conference in the nation, probably won't be able to find anyone.

Think they might just have to shutdown?

The only reasoning I could see to this is Tubberville is probably sick of the bullchit and still has to be a little pissed about the whole PEtrino incident. IF they are starting to circle the wagons and talk of needing to do this and that to keep his job, why would he want to stay? He has been successful at Auburn with an SEC championsip and an undefeateed seaon in the SEC, which regardless of school affiliation is nothing to sneer at. How many sitting SEC coaches have more than one SEC Championship?

I doubt Saban in Tuscaloosa has anything to do with him staying or not this year ( - Bama goes on a 3 or 4 game tear in the iron bowl and Saban would be directly responsible for him leaving).

Come on now. I seriously doubt any coach worth his salt is going to shy away from job due to an in state rival - if anything it would possibly attract some people hell bent on making a career out of beating an established coach in the nations top conference.

Why any Auburn fan listens to JOX is beyond me. If they do,they shouldn't gripe.

I liked Scott Griffin's morning show on 690am . Hated that they cancelled it. He's for Alabama, and that's fine and good. But Barker, the 'round table' and Finebaum pump Alabama and dog Auburn. And,any mention of another team besides Alabama or Aub is some sort of nonsense about how bad they are.

We're Knights of the Round Table
We dance whene'er we're able
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable
We dine well here in Camelot
We eat ham and jam and Spam a lot

With that said, if every rumor surrounding Saban prior to last year were true he would currently be coaching about 6 different teams, FWIW.
