LSU shut him down in the second half...Chavis made adjustments. LSU has very fast defensive ends which is key to containing him or any other QB running A$M's offensive scheme.

the quick play action seemingly on every play holds the LB's and DE's...but I think the SEC defenses figure this offense out. Next year in Tiger Stadium without Sonic Sam and Mingo may pose a problem for LSU...we shall see.

Johnny Football is 5-10 a buck 70 soaking wet...there is no way this little guy scrambling for his life can dominate the SEC like he did this year...sorry, but it ain't happening. Even Cam Newton is getting figured out in his second year in the NFL...

This is why Pro Style QB play and scheme is always best when it comes to winning big..and being a consistent program.

just my 2 cents

with that said, I will always stress playing Sumlin's offense.

I agree that I think the SEC will catch up with the TAMU offence, but Manziel will always be tough to contain. He's like Fran Tarkington.

I find it to be ridiculous that he us treated like a god at A&M. It is quite pathetic

Defenses will learn his ways and prepare better...
he will have to continue to improve to top this year..his teammates and their contribs will have a lot to do with that as well

it always happens, but gotta give credit where it is due.
THIS YEAR, one helluva year.

Slowed, yes. Tamed, no. Injured, probably.

I work with a bunch of Aggies and I told them the same thing, one hit wonder. He's still gonna be a descent QB but not this Johnny Football the media has made him to be. Should be fun next year!

I dislike the JFF thing as much as I disliked the Honey Badger crap. Give the guy credit, he had a great year for a first year player. I think he could have a bit of a poor sophomore year, because his two NFL tackles might leave; Swopes is also very valuable and is leaving. Aggie defense gets gutted. I see them going backwards next year, but their joining the SEC will have a positive impact on their recruiting. I hope LSU and A&M become our end of the year rivalry. Let the Hogs have Mizzou.

Me too. But to be introspective, we embarrassed ourselves a bit over TM7.

BTW, that he is treated like a god is a large contributing factor to why he'll underperform next year. They have a very easy schedule next year with only two good teams, LSU and Bama. They will lose those two and probably drop another one.

Alabama sure didn't figure him out and they had a season's worth of film to look at. The guy is going to be tough to handle and he has confidence out the kazoo. Bryant-Denny didn't rattle him and I doubt TS will either. Injury may catch up with him be he doesn't seem to take many solid hits.

Bama doesn't have the DE's to really contain him

LSU fans would be fapping all over themselves if they had him. I don't blame the Aggies.

heard the same thing about Tebow, and he continued to dominate most teams he played against. IMO, Manziel has a ton of room to improve. He's a freshman playing in a system for the first year. As a whole, you have to think that A&M continues to get better on offense as Sumlin will have a 2nd year under his belt there also.

I would love to think that JFF is going to be tamed, but I doubt it. He's more likely to be even better.

Coming off a Heisman, he will be targeted next year. A&M will go from being the hunter to the hunted.

That said, their schedule is an absolute joke next year unfortunately.

I don't know. I think A&M and JFF really benefited from a stout O-line, much like Auburn did with Cam. That's the one knock against that kind of spread offense: that you can't recruit big, NFL offensive linemen. Well, Sumlin inherited them. We'll see if those type of players will wish to play in that type of system in the future.

It's why I have said A&M's offense is better than Oregon's has been in recent years. Oregon has never had the line play like A&M had this year. With Oregon, a stout SEC defense can stop the run with 4 down linemen; can't do that with A&M.

You would too if your program had nothing going for it. It's definitely sad but I get why they're putting so much of their new identity into him. Only time will tell if the OP is right.

It doesn't matter. Johnny Manziel is about to have the most incredible life in the world - a Heisman trophy and 3 more years of A&M women who will do anything for the team, dream of being rich, or just want to say they slept with a Heisman winner.

Can you imagine having that kind of bed cred as a FRESHMAN? Good Lord.

Good point...but after he wins the Heisman, those two girls will be third teamers.
