I believe he was fishing for dumbasses, and not coincidentally reeled in some Bama fans.

You're adorable. What Steele has done against SEC talent with SEC talent is already known, and it's atrocious. It doesn't take much foresight to know that Aranda is a massive upgrade. But you keep telling yourself that it's not, not that it has any bearing on how terrible auburn will continue to be on defense.

Auburn was in every game last year except the LSU game

Outside of the The Miracle at Jordan-Hare esque play, Auburn never sniffed the endzone in last year's Iron Bowl.

You mean the play where the receiver should have caught the original pass for a touchdown but thanks to his stone has tipped it to himself to score the touchdown he would have scored anyway?

To be clear Auburn was down one score late to bama. A game winning drive was unlikely but a turnover or another blown bama coverage could have occurred.

Clemson is familiar with Steele. His last game as DC at Clemson, WVU put 70 points on them.

Why Les Miles hired him is beyond me, but I'm sure glad he's at Auburn now.

Clemson probably gonna put 50 on Auburn this weekend.

Go back and watch the game. The offense put the defense in horrible positions all night and after the first few scores the defense quit because Clemson's offense kept putting them on the field (and not because they were scoring)

So, the only fan bases rooting for Auburn are USCe (just against Clemson) and LSU fans??

I root for SEC teams in big OOC games except Alabama under Saban. They win enough and don't need to prove anything.

The rest of the teams, it helps the overall image of the conference.

I think Auburn can pull it off. Whether they will or not...I wouldn't bet a dime on it.

I'd love to pull the win out. It's @ home and Clemson struggled in every road game last season except @ Miami.

Also, how many 3-9, 4-8 schools did they play in conference?

I'm not saying they aren't good, but I'm not chalking up the loss just yet.

Yes, they are. They just don't want to say it out loud and jinx it.

they should be. He is the reason they fielded a top 10 defense in 2010 (year?) and won the ACC.

Just cuz LSU sucks and has no discipline, don't put it all on him

The delusions of fans before the first kickoff of the year is a wonderful thing.

I can't wait to read message boards Sunday morning when reality sets in.

And for the record, I would actually like Auburn to beat Clemson for a couple of reasons as an LSU fan (helps our SOS and hurts a potential CFP team). But I saw Steele take LSU from 1st in the SEC in passer QB rating defense to 12th in a single season.

Good luck guys. Don't say we didn't tell you so.
