I have no problem with the Southern Mizzous. The Yankee portion will at least have to prove they know how to conduct themselves. This also applies to the umpteen million Yankees that have moved or been born in my State.

As a fan of a previous late-comer to the conference, I have no problem with Missouri. Except of course, with their home city: if they'd change the name to say, Calombia, or Columbus, then they'd have my full 100% support....

The real question is:

In the real world in MO, not SECr, did everyday fans want the SEC as 1st choice? And how do they feel now?

I think we 1) wanted out of the Bevo12. The rest was secondary. The B1G seemed like a good option but mostly because they were very open about their expansion plans. I don't think most people even thought the SEC was an option. Once it became clear it was an option, we were overwhelmingly happy to take it. I would imagine support was over 2/3rds for the move on the fanbase. Just my perception.

A simple adjective would fix it.

Cold = one in Mizzourah
Hot = one in SC

I'm cool with Mizzou. They inadvertently took all of the heat off us when we were introduced at the media unveiling with a few player's comments.

Those who travel from there seem to be good people.

I always wanted the Big Ten, but I'm from Chicago.

Got excited for the SEC when it became an option after Nubraska snagged their spot and I really started supporting the SEC move over the next year. Didn't much like the whole pretending to be southern thing a lot of people did, but it was cool.

Started really liking the SEC move.

I signed up for the SECr the day the move became official, and now I can't stand any of you cocksuckers.

Winning eases that pain. Win something damn it!

Vandy has bowling and UK has Rifle. Mizzou needs to take baby steps and win something easy to start off with.

I don't think anyone thought the SEC was an option - they were quiet with respect to any expansion plans unlike the B1G and the PAC.

As 808 said, we were so disgusted with bevo, and wanted out of that dumpster fire so badly we could taste it. While a lot of fans hated to lose the old Big 8 rivals, they'd accepted it was necessary for Mizzou to grow and prosper.

Yes, there was interest in the B1G - but it was more about getting out of conference bevo, in my opinion. When it came out that the SEC was a real option, there was major excitement. So, considering the timing and the opportunity, yes, the SEC was the top choice. And I don't think that has changed.

Sure, we were disappointed in our football team this year, but we knew the adjustment wasn't going to be easy. Everyone I know is happy with the decision and with the SEC. And we know the payoff is down the road, both financially and with respect to winning seasons.

Redundant answer is....There was unprecedented support to make move to SEC when availed of opportunity. I think most never thought it would be an option. Any conference change rattles the cage, but Mizzou fans have no regrets.

Also agree with this. I am glad the SEC came calling instead of the B1G.
