Coaching carousel is like its own mini season. Kind of like recruiting. Fun to watch and speculate when its not your coach, and even then when your coach is O or Nutt because you know you can't make a worse hire.

LSU is a top 5 program, we will get a very good coach.

LSU is not a Top 5 program, maybe around 10. The real irony though is that without what Miles has done for the last 11 years LSU is more like a back end of the Top 20. Without Miles LSU has the brief Saban era and another brief era in the late 50's to hang their hat, otherwise it's been a slightly above average program historically.
You have a great recruiting base but in the end Louisiana is still a pretty small state population wise and you have plenty of folks that want to poach your talent. You have money, facilities, and a nice stadium but not really anything more impressive than half a dozen SEC schools. There is no guarantee of success.
In '02 Texas A&M had gone 20 years without a losing season, winning 7 Conference Titles in that time. We had 2 great coaches in a row in Sherrill and Slocum and went out and bought Fran from Bama making him the highest paid coach in the country who at the time was considered the best up and coming coach in the country for what he had done at TCU and Bama. We are reminded all too well of how that turned out.
Be careful what you wish for and NEVER assume that your school will just win because of the name on your uniforms.

Because the amount of stupid it takes to fire a HC with a record of 110-32, give or take - anywhere in the general ballpark of those numbers is incredible - who's won a natty & played for another in the not so distant past, is just too good to pass up. Alleva has had it in for Miles forever, & you morons have now given him the backing to do it. ... Enjoy your Thanksgiving & maybe watch some replays of LSU's glory days because if Les goes ... they gone.

GT is top 50 program? They have 4 national titles (equal to LSU) and have 714 wins all time. Unless you're talking about recent history, then yeah. Oh wait, they won the Orange Bowl last year.

LSU is absolutely not a top 5 job anymore. Saban made it into that and les carried it for a while, but as of today, hell the last 3 years, LSU is no where close to being top 5. If been saying for years mediocre at best. What place in your own division (sec west) are you in? And tell me your a top 5 program in college football lololololol
