A little surprised that there has been so much backlash towards these hires.

Lebby has coached under Art Briles, Josh Heupel, Lane Kiffin, and done a nice job at OU. He will score points at MSU and they will be exciting to watch. That style of football may help him in the portal, so I could see him doing a solid job there.

Elko has had success at A&M. He understands the dynamics of College Station. The high school coaches in the state love him, which can’t be understated. He won at Duke, and injuries kept this team from having more success. I think he could potentially be a home run hire.

To the critics I would ask who were these better candidates? Ryan Day? He ain’t leaving OSU. Chadwell? He seems to be content at Liberty. Matt Campbell? He’s plateaued at ISU.

Both schools did a great job. If they don’t have success it may have to do with playing in the best conference in college football.

A&M is running out of saviors. With Texas and Oklahoma entering the SEC, the high school coaches are going to have not as much pull as these schools are in the premier conference as well while offering better opportunities and NIL deals for in state blue chips.

He won’t. Those Michigan losses are bad, but he won’t get axed…..yet anyways.

I think that’s the reason for the backlash

That might be justified.

Yeahhh Oklahoma fans are thrilled he’s leaving. What exactly makes him a good hire?

OU is a tough fan base. Anything less than a conference championship and a playoff berth is a let down. That doesn’t mean Lebby hasn’t done a great job. The fan expectations and the talent of the roster might not be in sync.

One more, and Ryan Day is gone from Columbus. Write that down. Etch it on a rock, and stick it in your pocket.

And then that will be a feeding frenzy.

If he loses four in a row and in Columbus a second time than you’re probably right.

He did a lot of good things such as recruiting and putting up big numbers against mediocre opponents, but then he would make us scratch our heads with his play calling and clock management.

The random message board idiots that want to bitch about everything are glad Lebby is leaving. The ones in the real world see it as a loss.

Either of the Kansas Schools or Fish would have been better, but suspect were too expensive. Smith also, but just too slow on the draw to beat Michigan State.

Surprised they did not have someone in the bag BEFORE they fired Jimbo.

Nick Saban won 6-7 games each year at Mich St from 1996-1998. Went 10-2 in 1999.

Maybe aTm is just getting Elko a year early.

KSU coach has said repeatedly that KSU is his last stop. He is 56 and has no strong recruiting ties in Texas or Miss/SEC recruiting grounds. He works for same athletic director he had at NDSU. He's happy and going nowhere.

Let me translate that for you: "they didn't offer enough money."

What’s the deal with Mizzou’s HC? Just a good year or is he on the rise?
