The thread about living in SEC states reminded me that there is NOTHING like the pull of home…

So, you’re retarded and proud of it. Congrats, I guess.

You would think those are kind words. After all, you’re retarded.

Home is where the heart is. Nostalgia is a powerful tool. Miami is fun to visit, but I'd rather not live there. I've lived in a few different places in my life, and nothing compares to where I grew up. I think the only place other than my hometown I'd consider living in again is Fort Collins. Colorado is a beautiful state, but it's damn expensive. And a little too liberal for my likes in the heavily populated areas (mainly Denver).

Good for you man. I would much rather live in south Mississippi than Miami. It’s not even close either.

Its always nice to be home. I could never see myself leaving Alabama but if forced I'd go to either northern Florida or North Carolina.

I've lived in Miami. You did the right thing, imo.

I-10 will get you out in either direction. I moved to the coast from TN and I love it.

Our family visited Miami a couple of weeks ago. Miserable experience.

Came home to spend a few days with extended family to bury my father in law. Lucky to live in a small town where people are normal folk and take the time to show up and tell a family how he impacted their lives during his life.

I have no interest in living in Miami, and I don't ever plan on going back there for a visit. No thanks. I'd much rather live in south Mississippi.

I miss the hunting and fishing. It was nice to be able to take a short run to savannah to do in shore fishing. Not much deer hunting or bass fishing here. But I can rabbit hunt and instead of inshore it’s a short drive to upland game birds or fly fishing. Small mouth, crappie, and walleye can be fun too.

The trade offs of good safe schools for my daughter, low crime, low taxes, and a booming economy make up for a lot. This is the 1st cold weather place I’ve ever lived as an adult. Most places I’ve lived had 2 seasons, usually miserably hot and less hot or rainy and dry. 4 real seasons with mild summers is nice.

I moved to south MS and I really enjoy it.

Plenty to do and with quick drives to New Orleans, Mobile, Pensacola & Orange Beach anytime.

Ocean Springs is a cool town, the fresh shrimp at Aunt Jenny's is hard to beat
