I'm watching the ESPN ALL Access show and Miles is killing it. I know there are varying opinions about his coaching style, but the man is a great human being and he has fun. He is really good for college football. Congrats Tiger fans, you have a hell of a man leading your program. No bullshite.

He is fun to watch

Nick was a little awkward in his interview, but that's not what he does. It's fun to watch his teams play, because he knows what he is doing on the sidelines.

And just to address the "want him back" issue. I doubt it is half, but I don't think there is a doubt that a good portion of most fan bases would love to have Saban as their coach. The thing that is hard for some people to admit, is that a good portion of most fan bases would love to have Les as their coach too. They are both fantastic, elite CFB coaches.

Can you not accept praise for Miles without bashing Saban? Damn. This thread hasn't gone the way I thought it would.

yea, but not everyone is like those dickheads. their anti-saban vitriol is so old it bores the hell out of most of us; esp since they have no clue what saban is like as a human being. saban seems like an ok guy to me and his players and explayers agree. oh, and thanks for the compliments. it's nice that someone has maturity.

Grandad, by your username I assume you were around when fanbases showed respect instead of hatred in the days leading up to a big game, I appreciate your response.

As an Alabama fan, I have had my fair share of opposing fan vitriol. I like to think that I am above that and have acted accordingly. I don't understand why we all, as fans, can't grasp that concept regarding this game which should be a fantastic representation of our two programs.

I got used to Saban and the no nonsense approach when he was at LSU too. I was convinced kids needed that structure and business-like environment to avoid the traps and pitfalls that have ruined many a good college football team's season. It took me years to get past the fact that Miles goes about it in a totally different way. I never doubted him as a man, but I've now come to truly believe in him as a coach. Hearing Kelvin Sheppard say to Miles while handing him the game ball after the Ala game last year "We're tired of all the shite they talk about you" made me realize how sincere his players feelings are towards him.

Hope they go at each other for years to come

Can y'all not appreciate that you have an awesome coach without bashing Saban? Some of y'all are ridiculous. Miles is awesome, but y'all act like Alabama fans are best friends with the dick head known as Lord Saban. And have to constantly remind us that our friend is a bag of shite. Who cares??? He's a coach of a football team that none of us will play for.

Don't worry bout that. It's been really fun watching the Tide play for the last 5 years. Honestly everything Saban offers here on out is icing on the cake. He has set the program up to have success for many years.

Their styles are certainly different. However, half of your fanbase would kill to have Saban back.

I agree. I liked Saban almost from day one. I liked his attitude... some players didn't like him? Then stop being lazy... they damn sure respected him. The press thought he was abrasive? Who likes reporters anyway? He has been much the same at Alabama, and I am not going to start criticizing him personally just because he is not at LSU. It's not rational, and it makes those folks seem bitter.

Now, I like Miles. I love the way his players respond to him, and he is a proven winner. But I am not going to act like a teenage girl and hate Saban just to prove I like Miles.

Not all of us are that way Reauxl . Most like myself realize that Saban brought the LSU football program off the mat and into national contention. His intensity and drive caused him to look for a new challenge and that may well happen at Bama.
He was good for LSU , he has been good for Bama.

Les is a totally different critter but gets similar results and will probably retire from LSU with a few BCS cahmpionships .

Most of the fanbase has moved on from Sabon ..save a few very vocal rantards on this site.!
May the best team win!

First and foremost, Saban brought discipline to the LSU football program. I give him credit for that. He's done the same thing at bama, produced a disciplined team.

That said, I see Miles being a better all around coach than Saban focusing not only on disciple but having great personal relationships with his players also. LSU players would walk through fire for Les because of his relationship with them. I'm not sure if that would be true with bama players and Saban.

You loved him while you had him. He's a great coach and won big at both of our beloved schools.

Thanks Saint. It's taken a while for some of the fan base to come around to Miles but he really is a class act and a great coach. He's had a lot of curveballs thrown at him this year and he's handled all well, stayed focused and kept the team the same.

It's a weird mind game the two schools have going on. The fact is LSU wouldn't be where they are now if not for Saban, and he wouldn't be where he is now if not for LSU. And who knows where Bama would be now if not for all of that.

That last part gets overlooked 99% of the time.

Most of those assholes were probably in diapers when Saban came to LSU. If they had gone through the Archer/Hallman/Tepper years they would have a little appreciation for Saban. You don't have to hate Miles to appreciate what Saban has done in his career.

I wouldn't trade Miles for Saban, however.
