In the 90's when Tennessee was good and LSU sucked Bama got very riled up for UT.

You get riled up about teams that actually can beat you and recently have.

Dude, LSU doesnt even come close to how we feel about playing UT. Stop flattering yourself. LSU is a loss. UT is a catostorphic loss that takes weeks to get over if not years. I'm still pissed about 1996.

I don't think they'll ever understand it. Our game goes in cycles and when you're the team that's down you hear about for fricking years. A Bama win or UT win usually signifies either the beginning of an Era of dominance for one team or the beginning/continuance of mediocrity for at least another year. It doesn't help that we live beside one another and can't exactly avoid hearing one another take jabs for several years in a row.

This is what LSU people have to hang their hats on now. "We annoy Bama fans more than Tennessee!"

I'll post this as just one example of a set of fans that had a different impression than you about LSU fans: some quotes from other arizona fans:

We were treated w/ class the entire day in Baton Rouge. Food and drinks galore being offered to us by LSU fans. Catfish, Jambalaya, Gator Bites, etc.... I never had an empty glass or plate.

There were roughly 150,000 people mulling around the tailgate and stadium, and I only encountered one prick.

On my way back to the car after I left the game, I didn't hear one catcall or "We kicked your arse." I heard nothing. And I can't say how much I appreciated that. I was basically ready to cry after I left the stadium, and LSU fans just let us walk to our car w/o heckling.

That's pretty impressive. I just wanted to extend a big thank you to all of the LSU fans that treated us with class the entire day.

Thanks again to everyone for making my trip to Tiger Stadium a wonderful experience.

In addition to having had a great time in New Orleans, I had a wonderful time on your campus and it started the moment my friend and I parked and walked away from our rental 6 hours before the game.

Imagine the unimaginable. Imagine every nook and cranny of the UofA campus allowed for parking and cooking and setting up tents. Imagine that after the game is over, there is scarcely any garbage to be seen.

We were embraced by no fewer than 6 different tailgaters who all insisted that we stop and enjoy their vast offerings of drink and food. A largesse that without exception were all delicious, delectable, gratifying, and exquisite.

The campus of Louisiana State University is beautiful and is lined with thousands of magnolia trees that beautify and shade (remarkably well) the vast campus' walkways and breeze ways like a canopy.

The pageantry of the marching band's march from outside the stadium and into it was truly a site to see. The Golden Girls were all stunning and the crowd outside the stadium was stirred into a frenzy an entire hour before the game began.

Mike#5's new habitat is a great attraction.

The Pete Maravich Assembly Center looks like a great place to watch basketball. We actually went inside but could not step on its floor since a private pre-game function was being conducted with large projections of the day's televised football games. It looked like an air-conditioned boosters' tailgate was being held.

The R&B band playing outside the Maravich Center, Mike Zito and The Real Deal (mikezito.com), was fantastic. I could have listened to them for hours except that there were no magnolia trees there to shade me.

A truly great place to watch and live a football game where southern hospitality is the order of the day.

I'll gladly be your Tiger Bait any day again!!!

My weekend down in Louisiana was awesome. On Friday me and my friend flew into New Orleans and hung out on Bourbon Street that night. There were tons of Arizona fans around and Bourbon Street was definitely a real good time. On Saturday, we went up to Baton Rouge and tailgated. The LSU fans were nothing but classy and the food was awesome. I thought the "Tiger Bait" chants were hilarious, I laughed every single time they started. Not a single LSU fan was rude to me or my friend, and we definitely got drunk before the game. The game itself...I don't really want to talk about that. However, the atmosphere at Tiger Stadium is great and is obviously far superior to what we have at Arizona Stadium. Even though the game sucked, we didn't want to spend our last night there sulking in our hotel room (it's not like I thought Arizona was going to win anyway), so we went to Chimes after the game and then out to Tigerland. Overall, I had a great experience in Louisiana and I hope LSU has a great season, their fans really deserve success.

The fans were tremendous, and that, by far, was the best gameday experience ever. They'd smile, call you Tigerbait, then invite you in for unbelievably good food and some drink. Some even apologized after the game, and many came up to us as we were leaving to make sure to ask if we were treated well, including the last fans we saw after the game that gave us cookies and invited us for more food. And it wasn't just because they killed us on the field...they were like that all day. Its a principle to them. Sure...they didn't respect our team at all. But it us like nature for them to treat the opposing fans well. We could all learn from them.
