you as shocked and unbelieveing as lsu fans that miles kept doing the same thing over and over? that he didn't throw the ball downfield or change qb's or both?
could you believe this was happening?
I kept waiting for the JJ hook, and it...just...never...happened.

I think I'm more shocked now after looking at the box score. I was drinking last night and wasnt fully paying attention to everything, but 0 pts, 5 1st downs, less than 100 total yards, and only crossed the fifty once? Never would I have expected that. And I damn sure expected Les to go for it more than once when trailing in a NCG. Hell he went for it 5 times (I think) in one game against Florida.

Kirby and the DB's did a fantastic job of hiding the coverage from JJ. The confusion slowed him down which also helped the D-line keep him in the pocket when he did try to pass.
It looked like they planned for the option game to be the key to win because "Alabama LB's were too fat and too slow" to stop LSU on the edge. When the edge attack did not work and the inside running game still did not work there was nothing left. CLM was stubborn and refused to try the change of pace (JL) that he had.

Agreed. Smart was interviewed before the game and said, "I hope they run the option". He wasn't just blowing smoke. When going against one of the best defensive minds (Saban) in CFB, you gotta change it up.

I could not believe how many passes they threw horizontally to the sidelines.

I was wondering if Lee would at least get a series when the option wasn't working. Of course hindsight is 20/20 but Miles probably should have changed it up to try to get something going. It sucks for Lee that he didn't even get an opportunity in his last game in an LSU uniform.

I made this point earlier, but I think Miles prepared and coached arrogantly and it cost him. Saban and his coaching staff made a ton of adjustments from the Nov 5 game because they knew they were up against a great team. They broke tendancies, made adjustments, prepared for all circumstances and it showed.
AGREE!!!

And this is my issue. The fact that les didn't even CONSIDER trying something different.
This is not worth $4 million yearly.
I'd be so frustrated if I was apart of TAF.

He couldn't throw it down field because they were all over him and the DBs were covering the WR.

I strongly believe that it would NOT have helped us last night, but he should have given it a try. Bama D was too strong. McCarron played lights out.
