I'm saying though that Miles was out. I think LSU had Jimbos ear. According to Hanagrif yesterday Jimbo had been made the offer but they had not come to terms as of yet and that was at 10am

I have lost a lot of respect for Schad and Rabalais through this mess. Never have I seen such absolute bullshite from "professionals." Also, the source of that leak needs to be found and addressed, whether it was from Alleva's office, or some boosters.

Me likely this thread.

It has style, purpose ... and it is forcing good discussion.

Such a rarity on the SECr.

I handed-out a lot of up arrows in this thread.

It's basically ESPN. They are the TMZ of sports. They see a rumor from a non-credible source and run with it. They are a gossip network. It all started with the Brett Favre retirement drama. I don't watch that network except for games.

Didn't Jimbo come out Friday afternoon and say he was staying at FSU?
When that went out on air it was over.
Everything was handled thru his agent so he has deniability.

Well Jimbo didn't turn them down during the third quarter of the aTm game considering Jimbo was in the middle of playing UF.

And I'm not saying Jimbo turning LSU down isn't the reason Alleva decided to keep Miles but for Schad to report that there was some clandestine meeting in the 3rd quarter of the last game of the year that decided Miles' fate is ridiculous.

Joe Schad should really be working as a soap opera writer instead of masquerading as a reporter at EPSN.
According to the Advocate reporter, Abreva wasn't even in the booth during that meeting, which leads me to believe that they were getting the ducks in a row to fire Miles but wanted to have his replacement at least in negotiations before announcing. They put out feelers to Jimbo, Jimbo's agent said, "no," and that left them trying to decide what to do. Abreva was probably pro-Miles and got all Pontius Pilate on the anti-Milesians and left the room, telling them that if they were going to do it, they'd do it without him. So, then the anti-Milesians had to decided if the money and resulting shite storm were worth the trouble.

End of day, I bet Abreva was feeding the story to Schad to make the anti-Milesians seem like putzes. Even if he had been leaning against Miles early on, he was probably incensed that other people were trying to undermine his authority. Either way, the whole sorry affair makes LSU look bad.

Miles is being compared to Nick Saban, which isn't fair. Take Saban out of LSU's history and Miles is the greatest LSU coach of all time.
