Well said. Besides 1/9 all the games have been classics. It's about as tense with razor thin room for errors as any sec games I can remember.

I love the rivalry. Les is the man and the team plays with swag like none other. And Louisiana kicks arse.

But I can't fathom how LSU fans think the rivalry is close. I know the record is close, cool. To this point in the rivalry, LSU has won some games, but Alabama has the match.

You'll likely get your wish then.

True. It's 4-2 Bama in the last six meetings, though. Or, if you'd rather view it from the LSU perspective, it's 2 wins & 4 losses in last six meetings.

I'd love to see him bring a third sleeping giant back to national prominence. Texas needs him. And I'm sick of him at Bama, dammit.

I love what this rivalry has become. It frustrates me when Bama fans hate on LSU/Les Miles.

Where are these Bama fans? Most Bama fans I know don't even care about LSU as long as we win our division. Les Miles is a good coach too.

It isn't a rivalry. The past five seasons they've been a great team and so have we. Besides that, there is no tie-in's besides our coaches.

I don't hate them, Before I came on the rant, I thought if we suck, I'd hope they'd be the ones to carry the slack for the conference.

Props for being one of the very few LSU posters on this subject to at least be honest in your post.

.it's only 4-3.

2007: Nick Saban's first year to turn around the program.
2008, 2009: What was your excuse for the decline? Les Miles was entering his 4th and 5th years as an LSU head coach.
2010: Neither team was great. Congrats on the 75-yard touchdown pass. A 70+ yard pass was the difference between a win and a loss versus LSU and Auburn that year.
2011: Alabama got the rematch and dominated; they won the one that will be remembered and actually mattered.
2012: Once again, LSU failed to prevent an Alabama national championship.
2013: ?

It looks like this rivalry ins't as good as the record would indicate. 1/9/12 and 11/3/12 were much more important than LSU's 3 wins versus Saban.

More Gump math.
Here's how you do it: We are 2-2 in the last 4 meetings

The SEC will likely do what it can to keep Saban behind the scenes. It does the league no good if Saban were to go to Austin and actually make that program unstoppable in a garbage league. The streak!

So true. My thinks Saban's next step is commish.

Typical clueless gump homer...

Feel free to list the other programs who've kept pace with your gumps since Saban's arrival.

It's a pretty short list so even your dumbass should be able to manage that...geaux

How are you defining "keeping pace?"

It could be argued that the list would be pretty short indeed, because it would be completely blank.
