MSU's schedule is abysmal, I think they lost to the only ranked team they played and it was Notre Dame.
And if they beat Ohio St.. they'll have a top-5 win and a loss to a ranked team. Better win than Bamas.

No, Michigan State is 11-1, but look at their schedule:
Western Michigan
South Florida
Youngstown State
Notre Dame - loss
Iowa
Indiana
Purdue
Illinois
Michigan
Nebraska
Northwestern
Minnesota

Perfect way to end the shitshow that is/was the BCS.
All systems will have their advocates and detractors.
Explain how a system where the #1 and #2 teams didn't even have to play for the national championship was better. Explain how a system where national championships were awarded before the bowls was better. Explain how a system that dramatically scales down the number of voters that determine whom competes for a national championship will be better.
The BCS' controversy has largely regarded #2 versus #3. Occasionally, #1 is questionable. Teams ranked lower than third have played little if any role in the controversy. The 4-team playoff will not be an improvement. The playoff will likely begin with an anti-SEC agenda and remember that money speaks and politics are powerful.
