Rematch aside, the first game was very intense. Every play could make the difference. I'm not sure what people saw as boring. I was in the edge of my seat the entire time. Maybe they didn't really watch and saw an OT game at 9-6.

This^
then they listened to all the dumbells in the media that said it was terrible and then formed an opinion.
Have not heard one person say 49's-Ravens was a terrible game. Is that just because one team finally scored a td?

It was the epitome of a great football game in my mind. You would really have to have an understanding of football to appreciate a 9-6 game in the modern era of high flying, dynamic, fast offenses that score in droves. That only offer up some moments of defense.

It is the reason I want to see it again. The two teams have special defenses and competent offenses. I want to see that game more than any, other than wanting to see my Auburn Tigers play for the NC again.

I'm sure FSU fans had that same mentality entering the rematch with Florida in the 1997 Sugar Bowl. They had beaten the Gators 24-21 in the final game of the regular season. What happened in the Sugar Bowl? Florida blew the Seminoles out, 52-20.

And UF won the SEC East and SEC that year genius. They also lost that game on the road, not at home. Bama has neither won its conference nor division and lost to LSU at HOME! There is a huge difference and those scenarios are nothing alike.

UF only became NC because ASU lost the day before as #2.

Do you really think LSU didn't want to score more than 9 in the first match up?

Answer: they played no one!

Too bad North Texas, Kent State and Ga Southern weren't on their schedule too.

How bout this:

OSU vs Bama in the Sugar Bowl (assuming they beat Oklahoma).

The winner gets LSU ?

That sure would solve a lot of problems.....

What it boils down to is just one big argument over who will finish second in the National Championship race.

Bama is the second best team in the country. Okie St. also has claim to contend for the Ship if the beat OU. I can see both arguments are quite legit.

But.... does it really matter who LSU plays? LSU has proven itself to be the best team in the country! The only team to come close was Bama. I assure you, that Bama will not get within 2 TDs if a rematch does happen.

So I dont care who we play. I say bring it. LSU will be unstoppable the rest of the way.

People who called that game boring remind me of the same people who called San Antonio Spurs' basketball boring back when they were winning titles. It's not about being pretty--it's about playing championship caliber defense that wins.

This is what PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! LSU, unlike Bama, did not take any chances in that game. They only took what Bama gave them. That was the gameplan...to play defense and special teams and not turn the ball over. Bama threw EVERYTHING they had at LSU in this game, even trick plays, and still couldn't score. This is why I honestly believe, and not b/c I'm an LSU fan but a longtime football fan, that LSU will win a rematch going away.

I tend to agree for several reasons:
1. Okie St. is #2 in the computer polls and if they beat OU then they will probably jump Bama.
3. OSU has beaten more top 25 teams.
4. The SEC already dominates the BCS. I see no reason to rub it in by snubbing the other conferences with 2 SEC teams in the final.
5. If Bama played and beat LSU, then to some extent the championship would still be undecided since LSU beat them at home during the regular season. It's like you would have to have a best 2 out of 3 to have a decision. I know this doesn't hold up with any champion with a loss but it is a factor.

Why? Because I am sick and tired of listening to people whine about how boring the Alabama-LSU game was on November 5. I am sick and tired of hearing about how the SEC doesn't have a good offense.

This has gotten annoying. Everyone has completely ignored what LSU and Bama has done to every other team that they have played and they just look at our game to draw the conclusion that neither team has an offense.
