Mullen is an excellent game planner and always has a good game plan going into games.

That was supposedly true last year prior to UGA-UF. UF had its best week of practice, and the team was locked in the most it had ever been under Mullen according to a bunch of insiders I trust

And Mullen completely abandoned the run early, used 2 timeouts on the opening drive, called stupid 3rd and short plays, and got away from his game plan entirely.

Mullens offense this year actually is VERY successful at running the ball, but they hardly run it because of how good the passing offense is.

I fully expect Mullen to abandon the run all together early in the game tomorrow like he did last year. I fully expect Mullen to pull Trask at some point for a play with Jones or Richardson and screw up the offenses flow leading to a turnover. I fully expect him to forget about calling plays to get Kyle Pitts open, which oddly enough has happened ALOT this year despite how good Pitts has been.

In short I fully expect Mullen to outsmart himself once again in a game vs Kirby where he clearly, just like last year, should win the game given the circumstances leading up to the game.

I will not trust Mullen to win a big game until I see it. He was great in big games calling offensive plays at UF, but he’s been terrible in big games calling plays as a head coach.

In many ways, tomorrow’s game will decide a certain trajectory of UF and UGA for the next few years post-COVID. And unfortunately I see Mullen officially becoming Richt 2.0 for good tomorrow.

UGA just does enough offensively to keep Uf from stacking the box, and converts enough 3rd downs to keep UFs offense off the field and out of rhythm. I’m expecting something like 37 mins TOP for UGA to 23 for UF, even a worse margin from last year.

I got UGA 26 UF 21 and I hope I am dead wrong. But I won’t trust Mullen to win a big game against a top 5 opponent until he actually does it.

Mullen will be fine if we can get some stops on 3rd down, which we couldn't do the last 2 years (thanks Grantham).

If not it'll be too much pressure on our offense vs a team with greater talent.

The only reason we can run it at all is because Mullen has everyone defending the pass. We can't run the ball against Georgia and if we try to run it you will blame Mullen's play calling being tooo conservative. It is the OL and the backs are average at best.

Lol if you think we can just line up against UGA and pass on every down with our OL.

Did he win any bowls games as the HC? Does that not count as big games?

I feel like Mullen sometimes out thinks and coaches himself in these moments.

You have to try, and their two main cogs in DL are out.

But I fully expect Mullen to just pass 90% of the time.

What is Mullen's best-ever win? I don't recall any major ones at MSU. Lsu in 2018?

Yup, I’ll believe Mullen beats this team when I see it. Georgia is in his head.

Here's hoping you win out the rest of the regular season and your bowl game.

You're probably right. 2014 State should've beaten Bama by 2 scores. He choked.

Why not? He has a proven record of losing them.
That’s very trustworthy - even if it’s not the outcome you’d want.

I don't trust Grantham but yeah, I guess that ultimately falls on Mullen

You guys remember last year when Mullen’s team was wearing the wrong wristbands? That was hilarious.

He really isn't a good game day coach (Kirby isn't either).

I trust Mullen with getting his teams prepared and having a good game plan on Saturdays. I also thinks he develops talent better than Kirby does.

But I absolutely do not trust him to make good in game decisions.
