I don't get the hate for the BCS.

I think we can all agree that the best team in the nation has won the National Championship every year in the BCS era.
Why do we want to get rid of it after the success we have had in this era?
You know what they say: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Will still have to expand to 8 teams. 4 teams is going to a headache for the 5 major conferences to fight over especially when one conference gets 2 spots. Then you will really see a melt.

I still don't think y'all should have been in that game. Oklahoma started #2 and went undefeated. SEC was weak that year as well.

i think it should be a 6 team playoff. 5 conference champions. Leave out American Conference. Add 1 at large. Give top 2 teams byes.

Not all contraversy lies in who plays in the Championship game (though, that's most of it and rightfully so). It also has to do with the AQs and tie-in bullshite.
What is the justification for having lower ranked teams be in a BCS bowl over a higher ranked team? In what other sport would that be acceptable? The teams are already ranked at the end of the year so just take the top 10 teams and match them up. 1 vs 2 in the championship, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6, etc. Avoid intraconference games and rematches if at all possible.
Take South Carolina (or Mizzou) this year for instance. We're #10 I beleive? How is it fair to punish us just because of the conference we play in? We play in the nation's best conference so of course 2 teams are getting into the BCS. But South Carolina beat 2 teams headed to BCS bowls, UCF and Clemson, and are ranked higher than both.
I get that they want to award teams for winning their conference but there are times (like this year) where the 3rd best team in conference A is better than the best team in conference B and 2nd best team in conference C.

Polls aren't going anywhere.
I'll be fricking SHOCKED if the first release of the CFP Committee's poll doesn't just mirror the AP/Coaches like the Harris poll currently does.

Maybe not, yet they still would have won.

USC getting caught cheating and having it vacated isn't really something that can be put on the BCS. Auburn was the 3rd best team in the nation that year. If FSU wins this year and their season gets scrapped that doesn't magically make Bama the best team in the country by default.

I agree. I have serious doubts that its going to "fix" a damn thing, but there is no doubt that the new rules regarding the "access bowls" or whatever they are calling them is going to lead to 5 really compelling match ups ever january, plus a championship game. They've got one guaranteed spot for the group of 5, but have gotten rid of this 2 bids per league crap.

It uses one poll set by preseason standards. It also uses a poll that isn't. Said second poll is a copy and paste job of the first poll.
They can say the CFP poll doesn't come out until week whatever it is, but the poll that matters in CFB is still the AP and it comes out in the preseason.

Oklahoma deserved it as much as Auburn. They were ranked higher therefore they get the nod.

You honestly believe Okie St. was better than LSU? LSU lost to Bama on the road. Okie St. lost to IOWA STATE.
