Can you imagine Oxford with Bama coming in there and OM ranked 3rd or 4th in the country with Gameday prolly there? That would be the most activity there since the University of Mississippi invented incest. Would be FUN!

That would probably be the biggest game in Oxford in the modern era of football.

This would be ignorant because the west will be so close this year, you'd better hope that any east opponent beats a western opponent for your respective team to have a chance.

If we play like we did last night...

Won't happen.

ETA: South Carolina beating OM I mean.

Has Ole Miss been a top five team and played a top five team at home before?

Honest question.

Does it matter where we're ranked right now? It's early in the season.

We played LSU in November for the right to go to ATL in 2003. There was more on the line for that game.

As always, I HTH.

Just looked at the datawarehouse. If it has ever happened, it probably would have been in 1960 when LSU played in Oxford and the game ended up tied; 6 to 6. Not really sure how either team was ranked at the time the game was played, though.

Yes, it does matter...answer the question...It seems you're taking offense to the fact that Bama at your place would be the biggest home game in the modern era for Ole Miss...no shame playa' enjoy the success...

Are you serious, Clark? It's definitely one of the biggest, but it's not No. 1. If we are both unblemished going into that game, from a rankings standpoint, it will be the biggest game. Rankings right now don't carry much weight.

LSU in 2003 is bigger due to the immediate implications.

04? The 03 Barn team was third in the SEC West...

The Barn's exclusion will never happen again.
