Nah they won't be. Nick Saban is 1:1. Losing a guy like that takes years if not decades to recover from. The run is over.

Every LSU fan disagrees.

Saban rebuilt LSU's football program and we've won two titles, played for a third, and have produced two heisman trophy winners since Saban left us. And he was only at LSU for a fraction of the time he was with Bama.

Bama will be fine.

Completely different times then when Saban left LSU because of transfer portal and NIL.

They will be talented but won’t have the depth to survive all season.

I keep seeing people rely on this talking point and it's true to a large extent but let's not pretend Bama will lose its enormous history of winning championships. Kids will still want to play for Bama in the future. Let them sort all this out for a couple years and get back on solid footing then they'll stabilize, start winning big games, and recruiting will improve for them.

It's not the end of the road for Bama.

I see the same thing, they still have solid talent so as long as the new HC doesn’t try and install the wrong offense based on the talent I think they will be fine.

I’d be surprised if they are in the playoffs the first year but with 12 teams now, who knows.

No worries. I am one and prepared to fight anyone who says otherwise at the Sonic parking lot of their choosing.

With Oklahoma joining the SEC and OKC being the HQ of Sonic we need to get Sonic to officially authorize their locations throughout the Southeast to be the go to place for conflict resolution.

Well aren't you the board buzzkill...
Next you are going to say something like Bama will get portal transfers and fill in gaps

Les Miles didn’t lose half the team Saban left him in the first week.

Right and he never built anything like DeBoer did at Washington. Les did an outstanding job maintaining that program. If Saban had not returned to college football Lesticles would still be at LSU.

Come on now, logic is not only frowned upon here but explicitly forbidden.

The portal giveth and the portal taketh. The fact is that a "rebuild" can be done in no time flat with the portal. LSU did it. FSU did it. Both of those teams would have had major issues without the portal to restock the roster.

To be fair, they also wouldn't have needed to "restock" the roster if players hadn't transferred out via the portal.

Apples and oranges. There was no portal or NIL in 2005. I never dreaded Saban's exit because I knew he would leave a stacked roster. Didn't count on players to be able to leave on a whim. With that said, I still think Bama hired the right guy. It may take a season or two to get back to a truly elite level but everything I read about him suggests he is an excellent coach. Time will tell.

Deboer is probably a better coach than Saban

Y'all are so delusional. You have no idea how bad this fricking guy is you hired. He got lucky over and over at UW. He was lucky to inherit a first round QB and 2 first round WR, and play in a bad conference, and still almost managed to lose 3-4 games. He's not only a poor sideline coach, he is about the worst fit you could have hired. He brings about 15 coaches from small town Nebraska to try to recruit the Deep South? Please. He runs off Sabans shadow staff, runs off the best DB coach you had, runs off a 5 star QB because he's dragging his 3 star backup QB with him... ok wow I'm done. I guess that was a rant
