If he stays (and my gut deep down tells me he will) the pressure to maintain this unsustainable amount of winning is going to get sky high. Even more so then it already is, remember when bama players/coaches we're talking about winning as a "relief" and not the satisfaction of getting a W? Why would somebody enjoy living with that?

LINK

Let's face it, Bama is getting him at a bargain considering what he's done. Mack Brown for example is getting the same money almost and accomplishing far less. For bama to offer him what he's actually worth it's going to have to be somewhere in the realm of 100 mil ten year type of situation (which is what they're saying Texas is offering him, plus 1% of the long horn network).

My point is, the pressure to maintain at Bama is going to become incredibly cumbersome w the lavish extension he'll get and more and more difficult to deal with as fans become more and more "accustomed" to winning. Maintaining and keeping players focused is going to become substantially harder.

It's a precarious time for the future of Bama football right now. If he stays or goes.

I've often wondered how much pressure Les Miles feels at LSU.... Is the LSU fanbase and administration satisfied with the football program? Are they ok with Les sustaining the current amount of wins Les brings every year? The administration pays Miles a ton of money are they getting a bargain considering what he's done?

Who in your view is putting this unbelievable pressure on Saban? When has Saban been in the same solar system as the hot seat?

This Saban to UT shite is the only joy the tiger ranters have anymore - they damn sure don't get any joy from their own coach.

I think it'll come from everywhere. Fans, media, the administration, etc.

Bama is going to have to offer Saban a HUGE extension which will be the biggest college coaching contract ever, without a doubt. You don't think added pressure comes from that?????

Obviously you don't read anything other then BOL and the Sec Rant because EVERY SPORTS MEDIA OUTLET IN THE COUNTRY, is running this story. I don't know how you missed that.

and FTR, I love my coach and the job he's doing. Glad CLM is a tiger and hope he is for awhile.

The only story the mainstream media you referred to (ESPN, etc) is running is that Brown is resigning. Saban is one of multiple names listed as a possible replacement

Did you not click the link in the OP? ESPN reporting Bama offering CNS an extension. Does that one not count?

ESPN radio has been talking about it all morning after they glazed over incognito no story. Listened to it on my way into work this morning.

This story has more legs then bama fans want to admit, which is understandable. It doesn't necessarily mean he's leaving, I still think at the end of the day he stays.

But I think him staying, with an extremely lavish extension that he's due, will have some effects on things that people might not consider. Which was the point of my OP in the first place.
