The SEC is stacked with absurd talent at the RB position. Just between Bama, UGA, UT, Arky and LSU, this conference has a stable that shits on the rest.

Hurd over Henry, more complete back.

Yeldon over both

You really think Hurd is the 5th best back in the SEC?

He may not be the 5th best, but I wouldn't put him outside of the top ten. If he had had a decent o line this season, he would've broken 1000 yards. But if my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle.

henry can outrun folks ... he is not a bruiser who can move a pile or break tackles, and he is not a rb that can wait for a hole or move in traffic like yeldon ... haven't watched hurd, so i don't know who's better, but henry has 1 skill only ...

Actually, had he played in the Chattanooga and Vandy games he'd have broken 1000 yards rushing with ease but he only had a handful of carries in each (he had 899 rushing yards despite not really playing in those 2 games). He did break 1000 all purpose yards with 1,120 yards from scrimmage.

In the bowl game, he had 88 yards in the 1st quarter and if we hadn't been up by 21-0 in the 1st quarter (we scored on our first 5 out of 6 possessions and went into halftime with 35-7 lead) Hurd would've put up gaudy numbers rushing but because they couldn't stop him or anything else we tried and we got up so much so quickly, Hurd was given a break while others got experience -- not just RBs but our young WRs who were already filling in for our 3 injured starting WRs.

I don't know where I'd rank him in terms of the overall talent in the conference but he's pretty high up there. The problem is that it's difficult to compare him to others given how terrible our line was. Damn near every single rushing yard he got came from him breaking through the line of scrimmage on his own and breaking tackles. There was no such thing as a hole or lane for him to run through - he had to make those on his own by busting heads. And while it's been mentioned that he's a great pass catcher, what truly impressed me is how damn good he is at pass blocking which is something even elite NFL RBs often lack. He's definitely the total package and is only going to get better from here on out.

Hurd is going to have a breakout year and he'll be considered one of the top 3 backs in the SEC by seasons end in 2015.

I agree with Chubb over anyone, but of the two I'd take Derrick Henry. I've thought he was bama's best back all season.

I disagree. Yeldon was too consistent to be #2. Henry showed flashes of brilliance, but he follow that up with 3 1 yard gains. Now if you run Henry off tackle, it is beautiful to watch.

right behind chubb and buga.

henry looks like frankenstein running down the field. he's good on outside runs and screens, looks like a tree getting cut down in the middle.
