Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freezeapparently snuck in Neyland Stadium in Knoxville with his newlywed in 1992, promising his wife that he would one day be the head coach of an SEC football team.In a three-part series on the SEC Network on nine coaches wives in the SEC, it was explained that Freeze and his wife were traveling to East Tennessee for their honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tennessee while he was a first-year assistant coach at Briarcrest Christian High in Memphis.
Freeze pulled off I-40 in Knoxville and drove onto the University of Tennessee campus, slipping through a small opening at the gated Neyland Stadium.
Inside the stadium of over a capacity of 91,000 at the time, Freeze promised his wife one thing.
"I will be a head coach in the SEC one day," he said softly. "I will."
"I know," Jill replied. "I know."
It was in Neyland Stadium in 1992 when Freeze began his journey to become the next great SEC coach, and he has recently proved that he knew what he was talking about concerning being successful in the toughest conference in the nation.
This means we have to fire Butch Jones, right?
What did Lyle know and when did he know It?

You have to cut all ties with Johnny Majors and Phil Fulmer. It's their fault.

Gatlinburg is awesome. Not where I would honeymoon, but I can understand why some would want to especially if you didn't want to spend much.

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are kitschy tourist traps. Something like Maggey Valley would be way better, and of comparable price.

They consumated their marriage on the 50yard line of Neyland Stadium. So everytime you see Shields-Watkins Field from here on out, you;ll be thinking about Bucky and Fedora leaving their mark.

If he didnt hit it on the 50 yard line he is a pussy.

Maggie Valley is tacky as hell. Great area of the country tho

I know quite a few people who honeymooned there when they didn't have much time to take a vacation.

Freeze is actually part gopher (not beaver) and he's the reason the turf is so bad in Neyland!
