Kick a guy who was on the ground with a leg so broken he looked like a GI - JOE with the rubber band broken in his hip

Good of Christian man Freeze to suspend him a whole half

I didn't think it looked malicious or deserving of a suspension but I guess it would be better to get out in front of it and sit the young man for a half. No since in letting a big win get upstaged by some media hack out to make the kid and Ole Miss look bad.

I didn't think the kick was on purpose. But the optics, during a heinous injury was bad.
The turf is the real problem.
As beautiful as the weather is in Oxford there is zero reason for turf.

Looked to me as if he was off balance, but he could have meant it.
It didn't look like much of a kick as the one the week before.

If Freezus says so
quote:
"We want our players to uphold our values at all times," Freeze said. "We'll move forward from it, and Trae is a good kid. It was an attempt, in frustration, I think to knock the ball out after a third down was converted. He made a bad decision. I talked to Trae this morning and he understands that's not how we want to go about things. I don't think there was any intent to injure or hurt. It's very unfortunate that it happened on a play where a young man suffered an injury. Our thoughts are with him.

Freezus is so FOS!
Another of those that use religion to try and make themselves look good....half a game? Really?
If this were Alabama, LSU or A & M trying to get away with this for punishment this board would be exploding.

Again, not the first time Elston has been suspended for dirty play. He is a POS
I usually pull for hometown kids to do well....he makes that hard.
I don't think anything would have came of this but great move by Freeze.

I agree that Elston was probably trying to do something thuggish, but did he ever actually make any contact with Drake?
Agree with the suspension regardless.

It wasn't enough, but I am glad to see the acknowledgement of the thuggery.
Accepting thuggery is a lot of what is causing some athletes to be so out of control.

The first time he was suspended wasn't for a dirty play, it was a bullshite targeting penalty when he hit a dude right in the chest

Glad some punishment.
Even if he "just meant to kick at the ball.." it deserves more that a one half game suspension.

This is the guy that got beat by Marlon Brown vs. UGA in 2012. Marlon was having a hell of a game.
When he gets up after being beat again, he grabbed Marlon's foot, twisted his leg and tore his ACL. Season ending. In 3 quarters, Marlon..."Led the team with 113 yards and a touchdown on three catches vs. Ole Miss; suffered a season-ending knee injury in the game".
Trae Elston is a thug.A dirty player that injures players that have been beating him all game.
If, by chance a Texas A&M 250 lb.tight end were to block him with "extreme prejudice", I would not have a problem. Make him a grease spot.
Watch how he plays. If someone is beating him, he "HAS" tried to injure them.
