You could hear the crowd on tv go "Ohhh" right after he got lit up. It nearly knocked his helmet off too.

Factoid from UTsports:

"Tennessee's defense limited Oklahoma to their worst day on third-down conversions at home in five years last Saturday. UT ranks third in the nation in third-down conversion defense at 23.3 percent."

Was not impressed at all. OU just pissed on them at will and marched up and down the field with ease almost the entire first half. OU scored on their first 3 possessions of the game, never trailed and pretty much shut it down up 27-7 2 minutes into the second half.

I thought UT had improved enough to be somewhat competitive, but I've changed my mind after the OU game. OU shut it down with a 20 point lead just over halfway through the game, with almost 400 yards of offense.

I don't get why UT fans seemed to think they played well or have improved after that game at all.

You haven't been following Tennessee as closely as we have the past few years

You do realize OU had 380 yards of offense and 27 points 2 minutes into the second half don't you?

If they had not shut it down, they were on track to hang about 50 points and 700 yards on UT.

So what you're saying is, Bob Stoops let off the gas 2 minutes into the 3rd quarter of a game with an SEC team?

Just by looking at the play by play box score, Knight threw 12 more times after the scoring drive to open the 3rd quarter. Oklahoma didn't "shut it down" until about 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter after Worley's pick 6.

Look, I'm not all about moral victories or any of that shite, but you're either blind or trolling if you don't see a much improved VOLS defense. Especially considering that you're an AU fan and we all remember what happened last year.

From the time UT got the ball back with 8 minutes left in the 3rd and a 20 point lead, they ran the ball on first down every time except once the rest of the game. They ran 14 times and passed 5. They had thrown 28 times and rushed 20 up until that point.

I agree that UT's D did keep playing hard with effort. However, OU scored 5 of the first 8 times they had the ball, then 0 out of the next 5 when they were up 20 and started running on almost every down.

Stoops shut it down. He could have named the score up to about 50 in that game.

From the 8 minute mark in the 3rd quarter until the end, OU attempted 5 passes. They ran on first down 7 times and passed on first down 1 time the entire rest of the game. They ran on first AND second down every possession but 1 from that point.

Stoops shut it down. Period. OU was moving up and down the field at will throwing the ball. Stoops switched almost entirely to the run with 23+ minutes left in the game.
