My guess is that he will continue to make Auburn his bitch (70% or better), become the winningest coach in LSU history, produce as many or more NFL players than any other coach in the same tenure, win another National Championship at some point and a couple more SEC crowns and be almost universally liked and admired.
Not tell us how things are going for you. Hit quota this month? Buy the wife a new couch? Taking the better half to Outback and letting her order an appetizer too?

I think his seat gets hot this year if they do not improve tremendously from last year.
Talk about really going out on a limb. If they aren't better than mediocre people may become displeased. Like some kind of prophet.

He'll probably eat some bad grass.

He'll continue to dominate the LSU-Auburn series.

Would Updyke really consider poisoning the grass at Brian Dennehy Stadium?

Will he continue to ride the coat tails of his (Saban's) 2007 BCS NC and be allowed to stay as a figure head as long as he wants a la Joe Pa?
Amazing he gets zero credit for 2011. Yeah, they shite the bed in one game, but that was an insane schedule to go 13-0 against with two mediocre (at best, including a suspension) QBs, and have to re-beat a team (the other best in the nation) they beat on the road.
His seat will get warm if he doesn't put us close to the SECC game this year, but future is still bright. Honestly, if he doesn't sniff a championship game (or playoffs) in the next two years then he'll be on the hotseat.

To legitimately answer the question, I think it'll go one of two ways:
1. He has another 8-4ish season, followed by a slightly better year next year (9-3ish), and the PTB at LSU get tired of underachieving (by their standards) and he gets quietly asked to resign with no huge fanfare.
2. The 4 year cycle is legit and LSU hits one out of the park this season, either making the playoffs or even the NC game. They follow a similar pattern compared to the time following the last NC and slowly slip into underachieving for the next 3 years, then repeat. Eventually Miles will either retire completely or look for a less stressful low key coaching position somewhere to ride off into the sunset, goofy as ever.
TL;DR - I think if Miles makes it through the next 2 years, he's pretty much there until he chooses to leave.
