How to identify the SEC fans who are stupid.

Ask them whether they want Alabama to win the National Championship, and why.
An idiot will answer "Yes, because they are in the SEC."
A smart person will answer "No, because my school has to recruit against them, play them every year, compete with them for media coverage/bandwagon revenue, and Bama winning the Natty makes that more difficult."
Any fan of an SEC school(not Bama) who has an IQ in the triple digits should want Alabama to lose handedly, Nick Saban to leave, the dynasty to be over, and recruits to look elsewhere. The only exception being Vandy fans, because they don't have a realistic shot at winning anyways, they play in the East, and Alabama winning is just extra piggy bank money for them via the SEC Network.

First off, when talking about intelligence make sure your title is proper. "A fan who is a complete moronS" ???
Second. Smart fans want their conference to do well on the big stage against teams from other conferences. Why? Because this game is all about perception and your schedule has to be seen as strong if you want your team in the finals at the end of the season.
So when your team goes undefeated and ppl ask who did you beat, you can say we beat Bama, LSU and Arky ect. If those teams arent ranked you have no cred and are now the new version of Baylor ect. Teams who won their games but were left out because the voters said "Yeah you have a good record, but who did you beat?"

Anyways, I highly doubt not winning another Natty's going to hurt Alabama in recruiting that much. Well actually if you think about it, if other conferences start winning more Natties over SEC representatives, then that means a lot of the highly skilled players everybody wants will take note of that and go wherever the bandwagon goes. If the SEC continues to fail in the National spotlight, then the bandwagon's going to go somewhere else eventually. That loss of attention hurts the whole SEC in the long run if we don't start winning some NCs.
As long as Saban's there, Alabama will be one of the premier places to go, Alabama will continue to dominate in SEC play, and nobody from the East will ever stand in their way. (Just ask Mizzou on that one.) Saban's staying there until he can't produce a winning team anymore (which will be a long ways down the road). After that realization, he'll then choose to retire (most likely) as a certified SEC arse kicker and one of the greatest Head Coaches of all time.

I am a Bama fan and would pull for any other SEC team to win the natty other than FAU (cause its AU). I was a big fan of LSU to win their last 2 (before 2011 of course). The SEC needs to keep its dwindling lead for recruits versus other conferences and ranking bias. There are 4 PO spots and 5 power conferences. We need to keep the respect we have. And I would bet a lot that my IQ is »»» yours. I mean you are an Ole Miss fan right? That guarantees you are 10 pts lower to begin with.

Championships are important to fans. Recruits have other priorities, i.e. playing time. If Alabama wins the natty and Little signs with Ole Miss, it will be because starting as a true freshman is more important than wearing some damn ring.
Whether Bama wins it all or chokes in the first round, Saban will continue to put together awesome recruiting classes. Nothing short of early retirement or an assassin's bullet is going to put a stop to it.
Finally, as a fan of the only team to beat the Tide this season, Ole Miss' prestige rises or falls with Alabama's success or failure over the next few weeks.

For me it mostly goes by the team. I will never root for Alabama, Lsu, Auburn. I used to have Florida and Georgia on that list but at this point I mostly feel bad for them. Once they win one I will no longer root for them for at least a decade usually. I just get really sick and tired of the mass of bandwagon fans. I mean I haven't seen a Florida gatora hat in 10 years and that is great. Even better is that I haven't seen a U (Miami) hat in 15. But unfortunately all I see now is Alabama hats and decals from the current biggest bandwagon fan base in the country and it's embarrassing tbqh. Notice that I didn't list Mississippi state also, they are now on the feel bad for list. My hatred varies year by year. But those top 3 seem to be consistent of the teams that I never root for unless Ole Miss will benefit from it.

My school doesn't really recruit against them. We recruit against Clemson. I hate Clemson. I in turn want Alabama to win.
