How much did the current state on NIL factor in Saban retiring?

No one does and it will runoff more coaches than just Saban

A ton, it’s meant that Bama can’t hoard talent at the level they used to, which means he couldn’t win championships anymore.

if true, and i know he would not be motivated to do so, but i wish he would come out strong against both, as they are, before CFB is lost. no hyperbole, i think there are long term consequences that will deeply hurt CFB. Yeah, get off my lawn--he is only a year older than me.

I'm sure it played some role, but I'd say Saban knowing how difficult it would be to grab another championship in the next 3 seasons (and still have some time to enjoy his money) played an even larger factor. Coaching past 75 pretty much means going your entire life as a coach and not having enough left in the tank to enjoy the millions he's made over the years.

Now he and miss Terry can spend the next few years cruising around the world if they want..something they were never able to do before.
