I think UF has a pretty good team, better than most think, this year that is sort of hidden under the pall of the worst season in 30 years.

Once the season starts I think it will show, unless the coaching staff implodes.

8 with a loss to UG is not going to save his job. It shouldn't.

It baffles me that UF has struggled the way they have with the athletes they get. Having said that, until y'all have reached the post-Driskel era, I don't know that the offense will strike fear in anyone. Might be improved from last year, but not going to be awe inspiring.

Good enough to beat Alabama

You are baffled about last year?
About the Charlie Weis year?
About the Brent Pease years?

How can you say this? Do you have a crystal ball? You seen the UF offense with Roper at the helm?

The fact is no one knows. Driskel will be playing in the offense he was recruited to play in for the very first time. That should be enough to give anyone that has an interest some confidence.

I will compare it to Auburn's 2012 season..............it can't get any worse. I think you made a good hire at OC. He definitely knows how to put points on the board. I am really not sold on your WR's, as a whole, though. If you can average 21 points a game, I think you will win a lot of games this season.

Only 2 points per game better, huh?

That would suck.

It probably will actually. Muschamp is a long term investment, it appears, and I don't have a problem with that.

Why wouldn't he?

I'm a fan of a school whose previous 2 head coaches were defensive guys who meddled heavily in the offense.

Where have you seen evidence of Boom meddling with the offensive game planing?

I can say it the same way anyone else is saying what they're saying. Like you said, no one will really know until they play the games. Would I be surprised if your offense is improved? No. I said as much. Y'all get too good of athletes. Have I been baffled? Yes. Even with the guys you named running the show, I would have thought the talent alone would have made the offense something more than anemic, which is what it was last year.

So what's the point of this thread then, because no one has seen the offense under Roper and no one knows how much better UF's offense will be, if at all, until the games are played.

@Goldkamp247: Brett McMurphy of ESPN says on ESPNU he's been told Kurt Roper "has been given total control of the offense." #Gators

Starting the 4th string QB and 3rd string OL in places will do that to a team along with losing the starting RB and WRs. The RG played with a torn pec most of the year.

That'll make damn near every team in the nation anemic.

Any team. Even AU's offense would have sucked if that had happened to them.

I can understand the feeling. With a brand new OC and offense being installed, I think the AD will likely cut him some slack, especially with such a tough schedule.

A loss to UG and only 8 wins will only save him if the offense is popping on all cylinders and there's lots of potential for the following year.

8 wins, loss to UG and shitty offense will not save him IMO.

Foley is a believer though so I guess it's possible. I just don't see the supporters taking to it.

So if I agree with you that last year was an anomaly because of injuries, would you agree that 2012 was an anomaly for Mizzou due to injuries?

Were you on your 4th string QB? He was so bad. I've never seen a weaker arm.

You can do that if you want. I'm good with it. At this point, anything is good. The offseason has been terrible again.

I still remember Florida under Spurrier when you knew they were going to put up points and force you to stop them somehow. Doesn't seem right they are in this state. Hope you guys get it fixed, with or without Muschamp.
