I've met him, his wife and kids while he was here in Austin. Our sons played lacrosse together (I think they were around 2nd grade). He is a nice guy. Wife looked like a Westlake cliche, but she arranged for gifts to our lacrosse team after an undefeated season. Will was very quiet and non intrusive on the sidelines, always attended. He is a nice guy. (sister worked with him at Texas during the 2008 season- she was a senior athletic training student at the time- never had anything negative to say about the guy and his players absolutely loved him).

Terrible coach though. And was hurt by his firing, and decided to lash out against FL by negative recruiting. I'm sure they have had a rough few years, that have been made a lot more bearable by the cash he has made.

I think it is an overstatement to say what happened at Florida makes him a terrible coach. He just might not be designed to be the head guy.

I have long believed WM chose Auburn over A&M for two reasons. 1) It was a better decision per his family. 2) He was a bit concerned about some of his ties with Texas boosters and not burning those bridges.

Anyone looking at Auburn's defensive roster and A&M's roster would have chosen A&M's defense purely based on who was on the roster. A third reason might have been he knew he could get Trob to come to Auburn and a possible fourth reason might have been he also believed some of the ground work on recruits he had laid would translate to Auburn easier.

WM is an extremely intelligent guy. He always has been.

I know his wife loves the Auburn area.

Kirby takes a head coaching gig, and Will comes home to Papa Saban.

When did this alleged curse begin? And why did it start?

Not sure but if he fails at Auburn which it sure looks like he will then no telling where he would end up next. I am guessing an FCS school.

That is what is so strange to me. He gets good, high profile jobs and lets be honest....his defenses aren't that outstanding.

????? In his time at Florida their defense ranked 4th in the country in total defense. I'd say that's outstanding

No kidding. And further, I love this assumption that rich people cannot possibly be miserable. On the contrary, rich people are some of the most miserable people that I've ever met. As cliche' as it sounds, money cannot make you happy.

I bet Will is quite happy in Auburn. His wife likes it there. He obviously likes the town and the school - though he may not be too happy with the current talent on D, or at least how they are playing.

Auburn is a great town, especially if you are affiliated with or a fan of the school. I considered a job there once, but didn't want to move my family and, honestly, had some concerns about how well received my kids might be in Auburn schools while being Bama fans. But I had zero issues with the job, company, or the Auburn community.

Here's another newsflash for Generation Whatever You 20 Somethings Are: There is not a single successfull person on the planet who has had a straight line shot to the top. Failing just means you've been trying. No matter what career you go into, you will have bad days, bad years. You may even have a bad decade or so. Do what you love, and do it with a passion. That way, you'll never have a miserable day in your life.

These kids who think that Mushcamp must be miserable because things aren't going well at work these last couple of months.....they're the same ones who post: "Game over. Well, that was fun" when the opposing team goes up by 10 points in the second quarter. What a bunch of little pussies we have created.

There's no doubt that he's looking at what's going on at A&M, and feels foolish for taking on a rebuilding job, instead of making history. He could've won a lot of rings in College Station.

Why would you be miserable living in Auburn. You would be closer to the school you think about the most

Maybe out of those little red machines in the grocery store where you insert a quarter and a plastic bubble comes out.
