Probably Taylor Hardin, which is basically a prison for the criminally insane. I had to spend a little time with patients there during medical school. Creepy place.

I was talking about Partlow, which I see now was closed down in 2011. Always thought it was a nut house too, but see that it was a home for the mentally challenged.

Bama has the cemetery across the street from the stadium as well as a slave cemetery elsewhere on campus.

Most folks don't because it is not marked and has no access unless you create a hole in the shrubbery. I think the trees in the background of this pic are the edge of the cemetery. It is very small and most of the stones are so weathered it is hard to tell it is a cemetery.

That cemetery at UA needs to go. It's an eyesore and is hampering development along Bryant Dr.

Cemeteries are moved all the time. A good place to bury the dead two hundred years ago may not be the best place now. There's nothing wrong with respectfully moving graves to a new site.

LSU has Indian Mounds right by the stadium if that counts, although it's debatable if they were used for burials or just for ceremonial markings

Yeah that is not going to happen....That is Evergreen Cemetery: Tuscaloosa's oldest. Most of the town and areas oldest, founding families have plots there. The graves go back to the 1830's. You can't buy a plot there anymore and the only way you can be interred is if you have a family member there. I believe that idea has been floated in the past and to say there was an uproar about it is an understatement.

My elementary, high school, Jr college and UA all had a cemetery adjoining the property. I had never thought about that until this thread. Thanks a lot OP.

It's on the other side of "downtown" from campus, but Fayetteville has a Confederate cemetery, mostly from the Battle of Prairie Grove:

The dead dogs get their own scoreboard.

I feel like we take this seriously enough. The fact you question it is why I thank God we came to the SEC.
