How many seasons until aTm & Mizzou's OOC losses count against the SEC's rep?

I'm saying 4 seasons. That's 4 seasons to take advantage of the new recruiting weapon and 4 seasons to learn the new style of play. I just picture a lot of "Meh, they're adopted." responses to SEC flames if/when either team loses to a team from another conference the next couple of years.

Compared to the rest of the Off-season shite, I'd say this is B+ material. It's a legit question when you think about it.

Does it matter? The SEC is going to have detractors regardless.

SEC sets the standard and the rest follow.
right?

You talk like it's just a given that they're going to be getting plowed in OOC games regularly.

I mean look at Arkansas. Whether they were getting lucky against the Aggies or getting their salad tosses by Mizzou, no one considered them to be a representative of the SEC's strength because they have never once in 20 years been able to even sniff a conference title. In a couple years when A&M is competing for winning the conference, then their out of conference games mater. Does anyone look at Iowa State's OOC record to judge the Big 12? No, because they are the Arkansas of the SEC. Does that make sense?

I don't see how. I said if/when. Clearly they are going to lose an OOC eventually. I certainly believe the both of them will lose at least one each within the next four years.

So beating A&M's arse for 3 straight years means what for A&M if we are Iowa State? You stupid frick.

They are both SEC schools in the stat books now, and no amount of asterisks can change that.

Let's worry about John L. Smith's bowl record before dogging other teams bro.

That's the only thing I'm worried about this season. He's like the opposite of Saban in the post-season.

I said nothing negative about either team.

Exactly, you may have the same support cast for your coaches now... but what in the future... isn't that worrisome for arky's reputation of dominance of the SEC?

I expect down years. There isn't a single program in the country that could have gone through the offseason we just had and not experience some kind of future rough patch. The entire recruiting cycle was destroyed. Next year we start from scratch and there will be growing pains. Lots of them.

Ok, then to answer you question I don't see how it would affect the perception of the SEC any more than say Bama or Arky's OOC losses do. They would have to lose quite a bit for it even get noticed, hence my response. Did Arky's loss against tOSU hurt the SEC's rep? UGA to MI State? Ole Miss to Jacksonville State? UT to UCLA? I could go on

You're implying, whether you meant to or not, that aTm and Misery are going to lose OOC games bc they're not SEC enough yet.

You've been here long enough to know that most SEC fans still don't consider Arkansas or USC to be SEC teams. Just don't worry about it, bc the only real OOC game Arkansas is going to play happens to be generally our coach's weakest game of the year.

So you think that you will beat A&M at Kyle this year? Whats the name of your coach?

More than you think. Suddenly OSU "could compete with the SEC's elite". Luckily, the whole scandal went down and it took away whatever progress OSU had established with that win.
