How many major bowl has South Carolina played in?

Dat Gator Bowl used to be a "major" one. Certainly not as big as what became the BCS bowls + the Cotton, but a major one. Hell, it's the 6th oldest bowl game. Went there a few times back in the day, including when we were 10-1.
Also, the only reason we didn't go to a BCS game was because we were in the SEC and the 2-team rule. We finished top 10 3 times in a row, including 4th, but we aren't good enough to be one of the 10 teams in the BCS?
I think that year we beat Clemson and UCF, and they were both BCS teams.
Oh, and let's not forget we went to the Outback 4 times when it was on equal footing with the Cotton in terms of pecking order. The choice was almost always on a division divide however.

Dude, that one hit Clowney put on that poor running back overshadowed all the major bowls that year. The Gamecocks took down a #1 ranked Bama team. This is all too recent in our heads to mock SC like this.
