Kinda hard not to after a 14-game SEC losing streak.

Not at all grasping for straws. I'm just looking at it objectively and not freaking the frick out because we lost 4 games. If you think because we lost to 3 of the top teams in the country and lost a rivalry game away, we have plateaued then you are an idiot. You are simply trying to troll the "sky is falling" State fans. Guess what, the sky isn't falling and Ole Miss will have a rude awakening next year when teams actually start taking them seriously.

Sure OM found a will to fight this year, which they haven't had for a while now, but don't get too excited. They are still a 6-6 team. DWI.

Keep spinning it. State beat the shite out of a really really REALLY shitty Arky team. OM had all of their moral victories from being competitive with aTm, UA, LSU so their guys felt like they could beat State. Had they gotten skull drug in those games they would not have felt the same. OM had no false hope of winning those games, therefore just being competitive was a win. State felt as though they could have won against any of them so getting beat badly was a punch to the gut.

You just don't want to admit that the best team and coach in the state resides in Oxford.

No, please explain it for us then.

OM fans have this way of mincing words to make their 6-6 season look better than our 8-4 season. 6-6 is trending upwards when you went 2-10 your previous season.

It is. Look at our schedules and tell me who was more competitive. I remember State fans saying they could beat Texas earlier this year. If y'all had our schedule you would have been 5-7/6-6.

Vandy would have beaten y'all by 2 touchdowns.

Ole Miss and State both benefited from a down Arkansas and Auburn. Had both remained at 2009-2011 levels, Ole Miss would have gone into the Egg Bowl 3-8 with a 21-game SEC losing streak. Who knows how the game changes then?

Of course, State could also have lost to a good Arkansas and Auburn, and be 6-5 going into the Egg Bowl. But even with an Egg Bowl loss, we'd still be bowling. Grumbling a little, but bowling.

SO, Auburn and Arkansas still good: Ole Miss maybe wins the Egg, breaks the 21-game SEC losing streak to finish 4-8, and State finishes 6-6 and goes to the Compass Bowl.

Is Freeze still a genius? Sounds like Mullen would be looked at about the same as his is now.

We both benefited from a down Auburn and Arkansas, but Ole Miss is claiming much more momentum from it than State, as those 2 additional wins seem like so much more coming from a 2-10 team.

State, on the other hand, isn't getting any more credit for beating a down Auburn and Arkansas and being 8-4 than he would for losing to a good Auburn and Arkansas and being 6-6.

After 1 season you dumb shits are ready to sign him to a lifetime contract. Your only good win was against State and you almost lost to Arky. You idiots are acting like you're kicking arse and taking names.

This is text book OM fan behavior right here. Talk shite way too early when you still don't have enough to properly gauge a coach.

Our talent and depth is worse than those teams. Mullen and state say they have arrived and after he got his dick knocked in the dirt y'all are saying state is on the same level as us compared to them?

Eta: 4 years of Mullen and we saw they couldn't get their heads out of the water for one breath.

How about you go and look at our respective rosters and tell me who was more talented and had more depth this past season. Then go watch all the games each of us played and tell me which coach is better and which team is trending upwards.
Freeze could very well sign a top 10 recruiting class his first season on the job after going 2-10 in 2011. While State can barely hold on to a top 20 ranking after going to a bowl the last 3 years and going 8-4 this year.

Yeah we're trending upwards and have the better coach at the moment. To ignore that is ignorant. Sorry.

As Meddawg said- you have to be as shitty as you have been. There is no doubt that you guys have momentum right now.

But State has won 8 games for the 2nd time in 3 seasons. A victory in the Gator Bowl and a 9th win for the 2nd time in 3 seasons and State's program is in a very good place.

You may be trending upward- but you havent even reached where we are right now. 1 win over us doesnt erase you being shitty for 3 straight years.

8 wins > 6 wins
Gator Bowl > Birmingham Bowl

That's the bottom line
