I still believe he was the main ingredient do our stellar defense regardless of how he's doing at Auburn.

With that said, he left a lot of talent there and a lot of it will be leaving within 2 years I think. Can McElwain and Collins keep it going? Is Collins even really that good at producing a solid caliber defense?

10+ years. Heck, Les Miles is still winning games with Saban's players.

Boom seemed to get 3 years out of Charlie Strong's defenses before being exposed so 2017?

we really didn't have that great of an defense in '09-'11. It didn't rise until '12 season IMHO.

We gave up over 21 points per game each of the last 2 years. He had one truly great defense, 2012 and that team was loaded with Meyer recruits and had Dan Quinn calling the plays.

A good head coach knows he has to have good players on both sides of the line. Mc is a good coach.

No you didn't.

Look at actual game numbers instead of just glancing at scoring D... teams can score when your defense is on the sidelines. Just pop in the replay of Mizzou from last year for a refresher.

This isn't Muschamps defense. You see Muschamps defense at AU.

It's killin' me how people do this. Even with Meyer. He came in and won a championship -- did the same thing at OSU, heck, he even did it at Utah minus the championship. He knew how to coach is all.

It's the same with Mac, he did it at CSU and now he's come here and transformed the program.

He will recruit like a monster if we can manage to get a good season this year.

Our defense now is better than any WM defense save 2012. The defensive pressure is insane. I don't think we've had so many sacks in so few games. WM was overrated and his defense got smoked in too many games. Collins, callahan and rumph are just as good if not better than TRob, wm, and the last dl coach. That is very evident if you've watch UF play. The man who made WM look so good is in ATL btw.

Yes we did. Sure there were certain games like Missouri that skew the numbers but we also had games like Alabama where we got embarrassed. Regardless, it's a false narrative that Muschamp brought defense to UF.

Florida is always gonna have athletes all over the field on defense so as long as he has a competent DC (like he does now), he'll have good defensive teams. The difference in Muschamp UF and McElwain UF is that the offense has a pulse now. Enough of a pulse in fact, that the Ole Miss defense appeared to be in over their heads several times Saturday night.

The UF defense never gave up more than 21 ppg under WM. That's a fact.

I'm not sure you understand how points per game work.

well as long as McElwain has no clue what a midline is, I would say a pretty long time.

Muschamp recruited good defensively, but look at Tennessee. Recruiting is only half the battle. You have to develop players.

I'm good if Muschamp's name is never brought up again.

You're right so far.
Until he fakes heart attack and quits, or allow his players to do whatever the hell they want to. He's no Urban
