I don't think we're a stepping stone for much else, especially now that we're in the major leagues of the SEC.

No doubt Mizzou could hire him- but when the State job comes open- Hud will be leaving for Starkville

I see no reason why he would leave for State if he was already at Mizzou.

Mizzou could probably pay him more.

Mizzou has really good support when they're not pissed at their coaching staff for botching their first SEC season.

Living in Columbia vs living in Starkville

Already in the SEC, why go to another SEC school with less potential for success?

Mizzou has better tradition and history.

You still have some to learn about SEC football.

That wasn't a dig at SEC standards, it was an indictment of your fanbase.

Yeah, an assistant coach went back to their home school. Way to follow the conversation.

Pinkel's gone with a losing season. I'm confident of it

I would hope so. You can't lay around hoping in the SEC. We did it for way too long with Nutt

One year coach from 1957, nice move.

Hudspeth's just my safe choice. I'd almost bet it's a coordinator without any head coaching experience that replaces Pinkel when the time comes.

If Pinkel pulls it out for a while, I'm betting on Josh Henson, our OC.

If we're going down the Arky retread route, we're going Petrino. I just think Mizzou's too "clean" to go that route. If we need to make a crisis of conscience choice, I'm hoping Pinkel sticks it out long enough to get a few good years out of Tressel.

You'd never live down hiring Petrino. Missouri would have hell to pay and I'm not talking about Arkansas fans.

Not sure that Tressel would be much better, but maybe.

East Tennessee State, probably the 3rd best program in Tennessee behind Vandy and MTSU by default.

Yeah, I just said if we're going down the Arky retread route, that's the way to go.

I don't think Mizzou is ever going to go with the shady coach thing, it's just not in our nature. Maybe the SEC thing changes that, though.
