There's this thing called legal exposure which Bobby P opened Arky up to in spades. That's why they canned him. They had no choice really when you get down to it.

Firing him didn't protect the university from any legal backlash. I believe he was fired for other reasons, many reasons. I was initially for finding some way for us to retain him. It's taken me nearly two years to understand why we didn't.
ETA: But I agree. We had to let him go.

I wouldn't expect a Bama fan to know anything about integrity, values, or ethics. It's not even worth explaining how bad it would have been for the University if they had tried to sweep it under the rug as is commonplace down there.

Yeah I am sure you would have gave two shits about all of that if Petrino was retained and led Arkansas to a BCS bowl game.
