Hey everyone! OP is an arse!

So I'm an arse for asking a question about a strategy that NFL teams use all of the time? College football decided to go to a playoff format, and resting starters for inconsequential games might be a negative result of that. I know a lot of people brought up the possibility back with the playoffs were being debated.

I'm not saying Saban would even consider it, but it's not like it isn't a legitimate question. Hell it very well could start happening at some point, especially if the playoffs ever expand to more teams.

Little Birdies are saying his pregame speech before MSU was out of character.

Challenging individual players to stand up and verbally take responsibility for their position group to hold themselves and others to a standard of excellence.

He reminded them that MSU just beat a team that led Bama in the second half.

Then, he challenged the team to strive for something no Bama team has ever done... go 15-0.

Judging by the surprising domination of MSU after a huge emotional, hard fought, bruising game in Baton Rouge, I guess the team bought in

So, no. I don't think that is in the cards.

He will never let any Bama team he coaches forget the 2010 collapse or playing every play to the LAST SECOND unlike 2013 in the Iron Bowl.

The hate is real.

it's going to be a battle in the trenches against a great Auburn D, but I think Bama wins big. Starters will play into the 4th.

No leash. They play until the game is comfortably in hand.

Saban preaches against getting complacent and focusing on the task at hand. Resting starters in November to avoid injuries and to save them for January is the exact opposite.

Should we hold them out of the SEC Champ game as well?

I agree. I think Saban goes in dry just because it is Auburn. Plus, the game is in T-town and all true Bama fans want nothing more in life than a mudhole stomped in Auburn on our own field.

There is a long window after Atlanta to rest the players up.

Aubie still posting shite from the kick six & camback everyday. Let's just get up 40 at the half and let the subs play.
