USC will open the checkbook for him after this season.

Book it. He gone.

I doubt Sam will risk a divorce and happiness for the money and misery of usc. His wife wasn't happy about moving to Georgia so that option is off the table.

But you know what? Three million bucks a year is still a lot of money in Arkansas as well.

Pittman is never leaving the state.

Even if he retires or gets fired he will stay in Arkansas.

Also Pittman has been making a million + for close to ten years as OL coach before being a HC and now makes 3M + for 5 or more years.

Want to know the biggest factor here? He has no kids so all that money is for his wife and himself.

That’s so much money when you don’t have expenses of kids or grandkids

Everyone answered your question. Unless they fire him. He will be there. I’m a big fan of Sam Pittman. And wish him success but hope the Dawgs beat their arse Saturday

I don’t believe Pittman would leave Arky.

They gave him the opportunity he has wanted for a long time, a head football coach. I believe as long as the program is competitive he remain at Arky.

Agreed

Ever heard the expression “like a pig in slop”?

And I mean that as a compliment.

The worry isn't losing Pittman. It's whether he can continue to hire top shelf assistant coaches. He isn't going to be calling plays anytime soon. As an LSU fan, I never want to go back to the CEO coaching model.

This right here.

Money and prestige always talks. Arkansas is a tough job. Not a lot of talent in the State. A few years of success and the money won’t matter. Soon he will want some rings and he believes he can do it. Even with less buffets at his disposal.

Maybe you should pay attention. He owns a lake house in Hot Springs and grew up a Hog fan. Has said numerous times it’s not only his dream job but his last job.

And that lake house in Hot Springs will end up being co-opted by a better lake house on Beaver Lake

No, just no. Dude has said multiple times this is his last job. He's retiring to his lake house in Hot Springs, AR.

The guy isn't going anywhere.

Pittman made an announcement earlier this year saying this is his last job. So where were you when he made the announcement? It was also posted on here. How could you missed this?

Who says he wants to coach forever? Sam is a great guy and if he fixes our mess and retires, that’s hella respect from me. We don’t know what the future holds but it’s starting to look good. The job is his until he knows it’s time to move on - and that could be anything.

It’s kind of nice having this certainty.
We haven’t had that in a while.

Houston Nutt flirted with every job every season.
Bobby P, we all knew he would be a mercenary for more money.
Bret Bielema, wanted Iowa, we didn’t want him.
Chad Morris, who knows what he wanted and who cares.

That could be something of a big deal! :)
