Any updates? What's the latest on how he's doing and how his treatment is going?

I last saw he started school in January.

Three players in the 2011 recruiting class have enrolled in Auburn and will be available for spring practice, and a member of the 2010 signing class who has battled cancer is on board, too.

Hope he's on the road to recovery. Been pulling for him ever since I heard about the cancer dx.

I wish nothing short of pestilence and fire from the heavens upon the University of Auburn...but I hope with all my heart this kid gets a chance to suit up. Kick cancers arse, Shon.

I think he is already on scholly. There was talk that they petitioned to not have him count against the numbers for this year's class, but unless they add someone else and everyone gets in, it won't matter. He will redshirt this year and hopefully be ready to compete in 2012. This all assumes his recovery continues to go as it has been.

yes he is enrolled in school but "working out with the team" isn't entirely accurate. shon has a long way to go just for his body to recover from what he went through and his muscles to get back in the condition to be able to "work out" as it pertains to a football condition. at this point his workouts consist more of stretching and very light lifting in an effort for his muscles to regain their strength they lost during his treatments

Put health first, always.. But I hope he's ready for next season. We'll need him at Right Tackle.

He is a member of the Auburn Family and will be for life. Football does not matter, if he never plays a down, it does not matter... Just glad he is in school.

This is correct. I assume he will receive a medical redshirt and still have 5 years to play 4? Is that how that works?

I don't think he qualifies under the traditional medical redshirt rules, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was given a special exemption from the NCAA later in his career if he is able to play.

That is what should happen for sure. Hope the NCAA aren't dicks if the need for this arises.

I ran into him and a bunch of players late one night at LIttle Italy a few months back. He has gotten a lot of his weight back it seems. I would say probably around 280 or so. He seemed to be pretty healthy and definitely in good spirits.

Gonna be a player assuming a full recovery. Wish Bama had gotten him.
