What does any of that have to do with Ole Miss?
The answer is A&M's last recognized national title was 1939. Your grandparents likely weren't even likely old enough to buy tobacco products yet. The Japs had yet to bomb Pearl Harbor. Radio was the most modern means of entertainment and news gathering. The moon landing wouldn't happen for another 30 years. Ronald Reagan's film career had just started.

Hugh knows everything about ole miss living in the area his whole life. He knows all the pros and cons about the university as well as oxford. He's knows what to sell on ole miss and he absolutely believes in what he's selling and it comes across to the recruits. That's how you get the out-of-state recruits. as far as in state, there's always going to be the State/ole miss split. You're growing up a fan of one or the other.
the other part about cash, cheating, blah, blah, blah. I have no idea or know what the "network" story is.

Let's dissect some of what you posted:
And what has aTm won? I mean other than Bama and to a lesser extent Auburn, LSU, Florida and Tennessee, the entire SEC is in the same boat....yet they don't have the ancient history Ole Miss has from the Johnny Vaught days
Can't deny that....but there is more to this story.
This is patently untrue. It is a perception based upon "ancient history" and a narrative kept alive by rivals alone.
Once again not exactly true. People base a great deal of "educational status" on rankings which unfortunately are skewed greatly by admittance standards. Ole Miss, and all State funded institutions in Mississippi are hamstringed by politics and HBC.
You base this upon what? Other than the fact that their Stadium doesn't live up to your lofty standards...what facilities are "subpar"?
Yes on average Mississippi is one of the poorest States in the Union....however you would be surprised how much money there is amongst Ole Miss alumni and they don't all live in Mississippi. As a matter of fact, after Mississippi, which state enrolls the most students at Ole Miss? If you figure that out then you will realize that some of the same pockets aTm dips into contribute to Ole Miss. And as mentioned before we got quite a few very succeful alumni lawyers that have done VERY well and when you live in a state with a very low cost of living you have a bunch more PDI to spread around. Not near the same level but I can tell you that $250K a year goes a helluva lot further in Mississippi than it goes in Chicago, the DC area or St. Louis....a whole helluva lot further like twice as far.
So in short, I can understand that your perception from afar is skewed. However, once you get to a "micro" level you may understand that what you believe is no where near what the truth.

Well sexual relations between consenting adults isn't really cheating.

Money, Money and more money. Add to that a head coach who will do what he is told by the money people and this is what you get. It's the reverse of Bama wherein Saban went in and told the money people how to use it. Freeze is something of a useful idiot. His biggest claim to fame prior to getting the Arky State job is playing along with Tuohy's line on the whole Oher thing. Archie, Sean and Doc call the shots on the football program for the Black Bears

Oh that batch of sour grapes mash we made for you on 11/21/2015 is oh so tasty. It has a "great nose", nice balance and lines along with a pleasant long lasting finish. Please keep it coming along with your interesting fiction. It helps pass the time.

Posted by Reservoir dawg on 12/21/15 at 1:09 am to Craig86 Ok, in a nutshell they have a very effective system in place of some politicians (likely), and old lawyers that got filthy rich off tobacco and asbestos suits in the 1990s. They made millions and millions. But this really isn't about huge amounts of money, we're talking about kids and families. This is about the "network", or system..whatever you want to call it, and the bold willingness to organize and work with total exemption and disregard of the rules. They're basically showing the landscape what they're doing, while waving the finger in the face of the NCAA-those guys are amateurs by comparison. They probably find them quite entertaining. And how much does the NCAA want to sanction anyone, anyway. It's ultimately going to be bad for the bottom line of college athletics. At any rate, I think Freeze is really nothing more than a puppet in all this. I'm not saying this practice is exclusive to Ole Miss, by any means, but they are probably the best at it, all things considered.
Go back to ED. You must live over there coming from a post like this.

Anything and everything y'all win of any significance will get vacated. That's how blatantly obvious y'all are cheating.

If someone unaffiliated with the SEC read this message board and try to understand the financial ability of each school, the note taking would state that Ole Miss is both the richest and most powerfully influential and also the most impoverished and needy.
The narrative changes rapidly.

This is true. Archie was calling the plays from a tinted press box during 38-17.
