You program is better, but it is harder to steal a splash coach than it was in 1999 (like Jimbo to put a name on it).

I agree it would be tough to get Jimbo. But in 1999 we didn't go for a big name. We went for the up and comer.

I would be in favor of exactly that. frick Jimbo Fisher. That guy is almost as bad as Les in terms of his stubbornness. Recall that he used to coach here, we are familiar.

That are less talented than at least one team you play every year.

How is that not attractive?

The SEC West is a meat grinder compared to going to a place like USCw...or compared to just staying in the ACC.

So you are telling me that all I have to do is figure out how to beat one team and then I win? Count me in man.

You know every up and coming hire is a crap shoot right? Are you willing to dump Les at the risk you turn into Texas?

Cause if so that is reasonable. If you think what happened at Texas couldn't happen at LSU you are delusional.

Sounds like you need new coordinators, not a new HC.

I would agree except for the fact that we seem to run the same offense no matter who is in charge of calling plays.

I mean, you have to take risks in life to have success. If we stick with Les, all we're going to get is exactly what we've been getting.

If we are destined for Texas' fate, so be it. We'll recover from that, too, like we did before (so will Texas, btw, too much money in that program).

Or go to USCw and play no one as good as you.

If the LSU job was open right now it would be the second best job on the market...third best if UGA wants a new coach. Fourth best if Texas fires Charlie.

Y'all are a top 10 job but not a top 5 one in a cycle that could be full of top 5 jobs.

I can't disagree with any of that, except maybe Les plus a new OC would get you something different.

While I could debate the merits of specific schools, I will grant your point about LSU not necessarily being the best job out there. However, that doesn't mean we can't get a coach who will produce better results than Les against the better teams in our own division.

How are you so confident about that? "Better teams in our own division" = Bama. Bama has the best coach of our generation right now. Are y'all really very likely to hire a better coach than Saban?

That is the real problem. Every other fanbase gets it, programs like Arky and A&M are getting in position for a run when Saban retires. Meanwhile LSU fans demand no less than to beat Saban. It is like staring at the sun demanding it doesn't blind you.

Can you honestly say the same for LSU with Les at the helm?

With the right OC LSU could be the best positioned team.
