How I would rank SEC teams heading into Week 2

We're about to start the second week of college football so the knee jerk overreactions of week one are still in place.
Before the season, here's how I would rank each division:
SEC West:
Alabama
LSU
Arkansas
Auburn
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Texas A&M
SEC East:
Georgia
Tennessee
Missouri
South Carolina
Florida
Kentucky
Vanderbilt
After week one, here's how I see them and why:
SEC West:
Alabama: No change, they looked like they found a running game again with Cooper no longer being Kiffin's entire offense. Defense was good enough against a Wisconsin team that is not very good.
Texas A&M: They might have a defense. That's good because their offense wasn't that great. This is probably the biggest overreaction since ASU played like shite and dropped a ton of passes. Kyler Murray would make a good running back, but he's not a good QB.
Arkansas: WTF, Brandon Allen is leading the nation in QBR. Seriously. WTF. Rushing attack was not very good though. This was probably due to the UTEP having 10 men in the box at times and the OC electing to say frick you, I'm gonna pass.
LSU: Didn't play at all and I moved them down purely on the fact that Chavis seems to have improved A&M on defense quite a bit. That might mean subtraction by subtraction for the Tigers. They could be right the frick back up in the top 1 or 2 after their first game though.
Mississippi: They looked good. They did work hard to run the score up against an overmatched opponent but hey, why not. It will be interesting to see them against a team that fields even part of a defense though.
Auburn: Louisville played like shite, their defense replaced 8 starters and Jeremy Johnson almost completed more passes to Louisville players than Louisville's starting QB. I knew that JJ was not a good fit for Gus's offense but I did not expect him to actively become a shittier QB under his tutelage. Auburn is 99th in the country in total offense. That is well below VANDERBILT for last in the SEC. It's going to be a long and shitty year on the plains.
Mississippi State: The Grind just didn't look good. It almost seemed like Southern Miss was going to step up and hurt you guys in the first half. That's ok though, you have a game this weekend to either prove me wrong or to solidify your spot. 7th in the SEC West is no shame though, that would be good enough for 2nd in the Big 10, 1st in the Big 12 and at least 4th in the ACC or Pac-12.
The East.. ah the East:
Georgia: Yep, about right. 19 freshmen though, that's a lot. Good thing you're in the east. I am saying now though that I don't think Georgia wins the whole SEC this year. That's less about Georgia and more about how I think the west will be really good. I still have Georgia going 7-1 in conference. Don't frick up.
Florida: You guys looked good, you have an offense and there's a good chance you might play defense. On the other hand, 2nd in the east might be 4-4.
Tennessee: Your defense sucks balls. I know, I know, Bowling Green could win the Big 12, but seriously, your defense is bad and you should feel bad. You are however better than most of the rest of the east. Don't let Oklahoma score 70. Win the game too but hold them under 40 if you can.
South Carolina: You guys surprised me. I didn't expect you to win against North Carolina and you probably shouldn't have, but hey, Kudos to you. You guys are probably gonna have one of those we're a shitty team playing shitty and end up going 9-3 type years just fricking because. frick up Clemson please.
Missouri: I didn't watch your game. No real reason, there was just too much other football going on. The score didn't impress me but you guys always find a way to do some weird shite when league play starts. Consider this a Jury is still being selected.
Kentucky: First half, you guys were fricking awesome. Second half, you guys were Kentucky. There were times when I thought you guys were contenders for the east, and you might be.. but don't let teams come back on you like that any more.
Vanderbilt: Sorry dudes, I mean you guys can probably replace your coach with Charlie Strong at the end of the year and not even have to change pictures.

If by "a ton" you mean 5, you would be correct.
You also fail to mention that they had 41 carries for 92 yards.

How do you figure Louisville played like shite?

That's what I was thinking too.

I moved you guys from 7th to 2nd.. so I wouldn't complain too much

Arkansas would lose to Arizona State.

Do tell?
Would you care to explain why?

It is a lot, but that number is catching people off guard because it's so high but it's a little misleading. It's not like we HAD to play that many...richt has just taken on the philosophy of if you have some ballers, let em get their feet wet early so they'll help you later on.
A handful of those 19 only played on special teams. TT, the #1 player in last year's class, only played towards the end of the game when it was already locked up. We're truly only RELYING on like 3 or 4 freshman, and those are the ones that have really stood out (terry godwin, chigbu, rico mcgraw for example)

Mizzou 5th in the East?
What the literal frick

Your defense could not hold a team to 92 yards on 41 carries. They would rush for 200+ on Arkansas and that would allow Bercovici to go to work.
Arkansas would lose that game by 10+ 9 times out of 10.

In the Sec West, I can see Alabama and A&M as 1 and 2.
After that though... hard to know anything about LSU --- this week will tell us a lot.
Auburn had a bad game, but Louisville is still a good opponent (even though I hate Petrino) and is much better competition than UTEP, Southern Miss, or whoever Ole Miss played.
UTEP was ranked just below UAB last year. Southern Miss was 116. Not saying Arkansas and MSU are not good, but hard to really tell off of week 1 competition.
By the end of week four, I think it will be pretty clear who ranks in the SEC West.

And a lot of these guys will still redshirt. We have ways.

14 replies in 20 minutes- i'd say they do.
however, i'm with higgs on this one, too early to tell. for example, i'm sure jeremy will get better or have moments at the least, ags will probably even out some, lsu will actually play a complete game, etc.
i was noticing this weekend all the comments about specific players- i remember conner shaw looked like total crap imo the first game he started- really almost comically bad but he willed his team to victory and ended up being one of my fave non-hogs before his career was over.

Congratulations! aTm held Arizona State to 70 yards less than their average per game from last year, after ASU lost both tackles! Huge accomplishment!
