I don't doubt Auburn fans, but all I know is he was the OL coach for them in 2010 and I thought that was the best OL I've ever seen until 2012 Alabama.

Looking solid as LSU's 3rd string RB thusfar.

I don't know about anything else, but Dyer ran for nearly 1250 yards and 10 TDs. Mason ran for 1000 yards and 8 TDs. IMO, you guys just had crappy QB play and crappy RBs behind them.
I mean #1 JUCO QB Marshall and #1 JUCO RB CAP came to Auburn last year. Grant came the year before, but only played a little. Mason was the one good shining light from the 2012 season. Add in OL classes that were brought in by Grimes and nurtured for two years, what did you expect? Your personal, scheme, and coaching were completely different from 2012 also. Pretty young OL in 2011, but still nearly 2400 rush yards. That's with playing the #1 and #2 defenses in the nation who both held you under 90 rush yards.
Grimes was great for yall, don't deny it.

Did you really just judge Grimes as great by rushing offense only? You know there is more to being an offensive lineman than that? Not to mention you failed to mention Auburns average ypc put them at 11th in the SEC in 2012.
Now tell us where Auburn fell in sacks allowed and tfl allowed in 2011 & 2012. And rewatch that 2011 Auburn/LSU game and tell us how great the OL played.

Like y'all really pass the ball anyway lol. Seriously though, you're #3 ran for 4.64 ypc, McCalleb ran for 6.06 ypc, and Mason ran for 5.88 ypc. Frazier and Moseley were just terrible QBs and the cause of your lower ypc. Why did Wallace not face the same fate?
Wallace 51 att 152 yards (higher YPC than Jameis Winston)
Frazier 42 att -35 yards
Moseley 17 att -74 yards
Wallace was also yall's best passer (at least stat wise)

The sacks are pretty bad, will not doubt that, but what changed from one year to another? With how much yall changed, switch of O coordinator, personal, plus a year's growth at the OL, can you really say it was his fault?
Also, LSU had 4 of those 5 DL get drafted that year. Three of them in the top 3 rounds. You blaming the OL, for a complete fricked up offense all around and terrible HC and coordinator is messed up. More importantly because if they could run block really good, they pass blocked well enough. You just had terrible people behind center.

I saw him cut a few Bama commits up on the field.
Broke some guys ankles too. Kid's crazy.

quote:Exactly. Which makes total rushing yards the only stat to look at absolutely ridiculous.

quote:Seriously, just fricking stop. Stop trying to defend the 2012 OL.

Here's the stat you need to know.
YPC vs FBS = 3.67
YPC vs FCS = 7.41
Rushing TDs vs FBS = 11 (in 11 total games)
Rushing TDs vs FCS = 5 (in 1 game)
quote:Huh? We finished 10th and 14th in the conference in sacks allowed per game. In those years, Auburn pass attempts were 11th & 14th in the conference. Do you understand the significance of being a team that rarely throws the ball but gets sacked a lot when they do?
The sacks are pretty bad, will not doubt that, but what changed from one year to another?
quote:Are you fricking kidding me? It's his job to coach the OL. Yes, it's his fault for the OL looking like garbage in 2 out of the 4 years he coached here.
can you really say it was his fault?
quote:Just to be clear, we are talking about 2011 here. You realize Malzahn was the coordinator in 2011, right?
Also, LSU had 4 of those 5 DL get drafted that year. Three of them in the top 3 rounds. You blaming the OL, for a complete fricked up offense all around and terrible HC and coordinator is messed up.
And yet the only team that did worse up front against LSU that year was MSU. Ole Miss won 2 games that year and against LSU had a higher YPC, gave up 3 less sacks, and 2 less TFL. Hell, our QB threw more TDs than incompletions against that Ole Miss team.
quote:this makes zero fricking sense.
More importantly because if they could run block really good, they pass blocked well enough.
Please, refer back to the pass attempts per game & sacks allowed per game for Auburn and then come up with a logical statement.

Didn't you lose your entire OL from the MNC team. I would think that has something to do with it. And your Heisman winning QB.

You'll think this is hyperbole, but whatever.
He's the fastest kid on our team. He's the strongest running back. He's the shiftiest. He has the best hands in our backfield.
He has tore our defense up in every scrimmage.
Every single report to come out of camp is basically along the lines of "he's even better than you think"

Miles says Quentin Thomas "played a lot of football today." #LSU
yeah if QT is back and actually healthy/can contribute that is big for us. He didnt play in the first scrimmage where LF got the stats that were listed on page 1.
