2011 stats:

Sacks - 1st (3.92/game)

TFL - 3rd (8.00/game - #2 is now our defensive coordinator)

We return players responsible for 70 of our 104 tackles for loss (including our #1, #2, #4, and #6 players in that category) and 33 of our 51 sacks (including our #1, #2, and #6 players in that category).

Sacks allowed - 4th (0.69/game - 9 total sacks in 13 games)

We return the entire offensive line.

Don't use facts. We have to catch them off guard. We came from a 3A high school football league. We don't have talent. We haven't had an player drafted in the NFL in over 40 years. This is what they believe, and this is what they need to keep them believing.

Tech runs a 4-2-5 defense. #29 rush defense in the nation last year (129 yds a game). Both DTs return, but lost both DEs. 1 new DE is a good pass rusher, the other is a question mark. Lost both LBers and they were the 2 top tacklers. Oline returns everyone and have 93 combined starts. Very solid group. Not great run blockers, but solid. Pass blocking is negated by so many quick routes. Oline is supposed to be one of the strengths of this team (along with WRs). Not top of the SEC good, but better than national average. I don't think A&M will have great success rushing, but I don't think that's their gameplan either. Tech probably won't have great success rushing either, but rushing is not a big part of the game plan either. This one might come down to which QB plays the best.

Thank you sir.

You're right, our top 3 OL in the NATION just isn't SEC caliber.

Our offensive line is better than Alabama's.

Confuse and maul that O-line, because they're soft

They're the strength of the team and any and every objective outside observer will/has said so. One of our tackles will be a first rounder, if not top 10: https://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/2012/05/aggie-luke-joeckel-could-be-picked-no-2.html/, the other is Bruce Matthews' son and Clay Matthews' cousin.

C'mon now...

If you want to talk bad line play look at our defense, but the o-line is a very good unit.

Dear TCU,

Thank you for the opportunity to consider you for SEC membership.

We received many applications for this position; therefore, it is a very competitive process. Those candidates whose collective skills, qualifications and previous relevant work experience best match our membership needs have been selected to advance in this process. While your credentials are impressive, unfortunately you have not been selected to continue in this process at this time.

If you are interested in seeking other opportunities with the SEC, please visit our website at www.secdigitalnetwork.com to submit an application for consideration. Please remember you must apply to each and every position of interest to be considered an applicant.

Thank you again for your interest in this opportunity with the SEC. We wish you success as you seek meaningful conference opportunities.

Sincerely,
Michael Lawrence "Mike" Slive

If you can run at will, you will win by 3 TDs. Mobile QBs do kill us traditionally. We have to force you to pass to have a chance.

Thanks for the share but I don't know that TCU was ever really interested in the SEC especially after the Big12 invite as they offer more natural rivals. My only guess is you are still upset about this article: https://www.star-telegram.com/2011/10/22/3463281/missouri-needs-to-say-no-to-the.html

The good news for you is that TCU is supposedly playing LSU and Arkansas in the next 5 years so we should get a good feel for where they stand on the field unless those games end up getting canceled.

I stop waaaay short of thinking we kill you though. I think La Tech has a good chance at an upset. We most likely WON'T be using our biggest advantage (the ability to steam roll) because we'll be focused on getting the whole passing system working. I think it's close or we lose due to cobwebs in getting the passing system installed with an 18 y.o. QB who'll turn it over.

You will probably start out trying that and if it works, you will work on your passing game with the lead. If it is a close game, you probably stick with the steam rolling. Sumlin needs to make a statement in game 1... no reason to get cute here and risk it.

La Tech is good. They could beat A&M. Manziel and Co. will have to execute well and not make silly mistakes. I am anxious and excited to see how this new Offense looks. Defense needs to step up this year. Defense looked solid in all the games last year. But 2nd half was the downfall in each loss. I think the defense will be improved just based on a heightened emphasis on conditioning. Also, when we have young talented DBs starting ahead of lettermen is another sign of improved talent and depth.

Why in the world would they be upset over some dumb person's opinion? I'm actually dying laughing that you took the time to post that link thinking anything in there was relevant or intelligent. Lolsicles.

Well, it's one of 4 decent SEC games the first week and it's the first game for the conference in general. Just try to appreciate all the attention before it's all negative after you lose Thursday

Yes, but this one is the best one.

And besides, you should be happy people are talking about A&M.
