I've seen lots of Bama fans complain about him.

He almost got pulled against Saturday Auburn, yet he always seems to engineer game-winning drives.

Is he really their weak link or is this a case of simply not living up to unrealistic expectations?

Blake Sims is either our weakest link or our biggest weapon at any point in the game.

Probably the most explosive Dr. Jek Mr. Hyde out there.

Just know, if he comes out on fire like Tennessee and Florida...it's gonna be a long day in the dome.

Inconsistency is a big part of it. Having Cooper helps him out a lot. He seems to have guts, though. Dude has been clutch.

That's an excellent question. One that I don't think has been answered. Saturday (neutral field) will go a long way toward answering the question.

Can I introduce you to Mr. Mauk?

His biggest weakness, and a lot of that comes from teams double teaming Cooper. If Cooper isn't open, he struggles sometimes finding or even looking for another open receiver.

Reminds me a lot of Bo Wallace. Throws a better deep ball, though.

Every time I see him he looks really smooth - and just wins. Our guy wins, but rarely looks smooth doing it.

I just don't get the hate for Sims and can't believe Saban even considered pulling him.

I wish he would against us next week.

The Georgia dome is not neutral. We play there 1-2 times a year. I call it BDS East.

he's definitely not the weak link. That would probably be the OL.

I think Blake's biggest problem is he gets caught up in his own mind; kinda an analysis by paralysis type deal. When he lets that go and just plays ball he is probably our biggest asset.

Nobody hates him that I have seen so I'm not sure what you are talking about.
Only Saban knows how close he was to pulling Sims but I felt if Coker went in it would be game over for Bama.

Mizzou's ends are going to wear down chasing Blake around this weekend. I see him getting at least 60 yards rushing to go along with about 350 yards passing.

Blake suffers from what i think alot of guys who were labeled running qbs go through, and that is the desire to prove they are not. So he will sometimes throw a bad pass rather than take off running into the acres of open field in front of him. But he is also one of the most clutch players i have ever seen. Sometimes he digs a hole, but he is pretty spectacular getting out of that hole. Honestly, if he would take off running a few more times a game we would be pretty much unstoppable on offense

You have no idea but none of this will happen.

Nobody thought he would be the starter this year, so I don't think you can say there were unrealistic expectations for him.

Average QB that makes his living off Cooper. If you can somehow cover Cooper like Arky, LSU, and OM, he won't do too much.

I haven't seen the hate for Sims that you're referring to.

Sims threw three picks, the first of which was thrown right into the middle of three defenders.

I don't know if Saban seriously considered pulling him or if he just wanted him to see Coker warming up on the sideline to light a fire under him.

Regardless, Sims showed a lot of character in stepping up the way he did after such a poor start.
